Robert Everett Sisson
Robert “Bob” Everett Sisson, age 65 of Gladwin passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
Private services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday December 14, 2020 and to join the service via Zoom see the link on his obituary at Ramsaygroupfs.com. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home- Gladwin Chapel, 135 North Silverleaf St., Gladwin, MI 48624 with face coverings and capacity guideline being observed. Final interment at Mount Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI.
Bob was born April 22, 1955 in St. Johns to Ronald Everett and Teresa (Piccinini) Sisson. He grew up in St. Johns, Michigan and graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1973. He went on to attend Lansing Community College and Wayne State University; earning his degree in Mortuary Science in 1976. He served his apprenticeship at Estes Leadley Funeral Home in Lansing, Michigan and went to work as a licensed funeral director in Alpena and Grand Rapids.
Bob thoroughly enjoyed serving others which led him to embark on another journey to fulfill his dream of owning and operating a funeral home, he moved to Gladwin and established Sisson Funeral Home in December of 1982, which he operated for 26 years until his retirement in August 2008.
Bob was very active in his community and became a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the Gladwin Kiwanis Club. Bob was known for his unnatural ability to repair anything, extremely crafty at woodworking, and even cooking, man could he cook! We will miss his sense of humor, his magnetic smile, and his big heart.
Bob is survived by his wife; Cindy Sisson of Gladwin, his children; Angela Sisson of Novi, Brian (Kathy) Sisson of Grand Rapids, Annamarie Sisson of Florida and Aleece (Chris) Hodges of Gaylord, his stepdaughter; Jennifer (Jim) Berney of Flushing, his grandchildren; Corinne, Sammy, William, Cecilia, Abigal, and Ava, his mother; Teresa Sisson, his brother; Dennis Sisson of St. Johns, his dog; Maggie and the numerous friends he has made throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Everett Sisson.

W. Jeanne DeVore
W. Jeanne DeVore age 93 passed away on December 14, 2020. She was born on September 23, 1927 in Illinois the daughter of Howard H. and Lorene (Cox) Cline. She graduated from John Greer High School and attended the University of Illinois for 3 years. On February 1, 1950 she married Dr. Harry J. DeVore, who passed away on September 25, 2020.
Jeanne was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, taught stained glass classes at Lansing Community College, taught quilting and had a passion for cooking, baking and doing crafts.
Surviving are daughter Linda DeVore of Arizona and son Stephen DeVore of Allegan, MI. There are 4 grandchildren, Michael DeVore, Amanda (Jason) Gaffney, Todd DeVore, and Karri (Ed) Perry; 7 great grandchildren, Chelsea, Sydney, Lynsey, Rachel and Braelin Perry, Cameron and Austin DeVore and 3 great-great grandchildren, Jackson, Avery and Amil Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Private funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hazel Findlay Country Manor or Ingham County Humane Society. The family is being served by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home.
Doris Clara Wieber
Doris Clara Wieber, 82, of Fowler, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, MI.
Doris Clara Wieber was born on March 29, 1938 in Bengal Township to Julius and Martha (Halfmann) Schmitt. She attended St. Mary’s School in Westphalia; and after the family moved to Fowler, she graduated from Fowler High School with the class of 1956. She was employed with the State of Michigan. On May 28, 1960, Doris married Gerald Wieber at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler.
Together with her husband they operated the family farm. Her family was her greatest joy. Doris loved to quilt, work crossword puzzles, play board games and bridge. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Association.
Doris is survived by her husband Gerald, 8 children: Linda (Pete) Kelbel, Dave (Rita) Wieber, Ken (Kim) Wieber, Gary Wieber, Janet (Jerry) Krause, Luann Wieber, Jim (Marcy) Wieber, and Beth (Christopher) Moore; 17 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Peter and Grace Kelbel, Lindsay (Elliot) Rudert, Ryan, Jordyn and Kyra Wieber, Donavan Wieber, Ian, Adam and Maddie Lessard, Nolan, Jolie and Leah Wieber and Jonah, Rachel and Anna Moore; and 3 great-grandchildren: Ezra, Noah and Emery Rudert. She is also survived by 6 siblings: Claude (Cindy) Schmitt, Philip (Loraine) Schmitt, Julianne (Richard) Bauer, Anita (Gene) Simon, Bonnie (Bill) Weber, and Mary Ellen (Bill) Cole; 2 brothers-in-law: Alvin Myers and Fr. Donald Wieber; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Arlene Myers and her parents.

John Wayne Anderson
John Wayne Anderson, age 72, of St. Johns, MI, passed away surrounded by the love of his family Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.
A Graveside Service will be held at Pritchard Cemetery, Elwell, MI at on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Andy Croel officiating.
John was born in Alma, MI on September 16, 1948, the son of C. Wayne and Lillice S. (LaPaugh) Anderson. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1968. John served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He retired from Pepsi-Cola Company after many years of service and enjoyed his coworkers and the many people he met on his delivery route.
On November 22, 1969, John married Dorothy L. Turner at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Ithaca, MI. They were blessed to celebrate their 51st anniversary last month. John was an active member at Pilgrim United Methodist Church in St. Johns for over 40 years
John loved to laugh and bring laughter to others. He enjoyed being a prankster. John cared deeply about others; he was giving and always ready to help someone in need. If someone was sick, he was always the first one there to cheer them up. One of John’s favorite pastimes was watching the freighters on Lake Superior and watching the kids play on the beach. This was a tradition started by his father and John has passed it on to his family. Most of all, John loved his family and treasured the time spent with them.
John is survived by his wife Dorothy, 3 children: Lori (Eric) Mills of Brimley, MI, Joe (Ashley) Anderson of Potterville, MI, and Lisa Gruber of St. Johns, MI; 7 grandchildren: Collette (fiancé Nick), Danny, Evan, Luke, Myles, Elizabeth, and Lily; and 1 great granddaughter Aryia. He is also survived by 5 siblings: Lanice Hall, Chuck (Judy) Anderson, Cherie Yost, Christine Veenema, and Hans (Julie) Anderson; and many close in-laws and nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother David, nephew Tommy, and several in-laws.

Eugene W. Stump
Eugene W. Stump, 87 of St. Johns, MI died at Ashley Care Center on December 15, 2020 surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 10, 1933 in Westphalia, MI to Herbert and Laura (Thelen) Stump. Eugene attended school through the 8th grade and later earned his GED. He married Thelma Harr in Fowler on October 10, 1956, and together they enjoyed 56 years of marriage, raising 8 children, until her death on February 8, 2013.
Eugene proudly served his country in the Army of the United States from July 1956 until July 1958. After a short stint at Bee’s working for Bernard Feldpausch, he was employed by Federal Mogul Corporation in St. Johns for 32 years retiring in 1996. Eugene enjoyed his family and their camping trips, working on his ’54 Chevy, bowling, playing cards, and an occasional beer if served at room temperature.
He is survived by his children, daughters, Cindy (Mike) Mowen, Chery (Patrick) Goff, Rene (Tim) Cranis, Beverly (David Keith) Ballinger, Kim (Marvin) Stoneman, Deanna (Steve) Schaefer and son Kurt (Kendra) Stump; 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; his siblings Joan Thelen, Kenneth (Aggie) Stump, Audie Cassel and Al (Diane) Stump and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma, daughter Michelle, and son-in-law Jeff Ballinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns where Military Honors will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on December 17, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be given to St. Joseph Catholic School Education Fund or Ashley Care Center in honor of Gene.

Perry J Purcell
Perry J Purcell, 79, of Chandler, AZ passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2020.
Perry was born in Flemingsburg, KY on July 24th, 1941 to Martha and Nelson Purcell. He grew up in Fleming County before enlisting in the US Air Force in 1961. Perry loved his country and was honored to serve for 23 years. Perry married Rachel Miller on November 21st, 1963 and raised four children. He retired from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1984 before becoming a full time Minister. In 1994 he received his degree in Religion and Theology form Faith Baptist Bible College.
Perry was a caring and loving husband to his wife Rachel of 57 years and an amazing father to his children. He instilled values in his family, always sharing and living by his beliefs throughout his life. Perry devoted his life to serving others, volunteering at community programs, churches and extending help to anyone in need. Everyone who met Perry knew they had a friend for life. He befriended everyone he met and had a positive effect on their life.
He is survived by his wife Rachel and their 4 children: Teresa and John Lord, Jeffrey and Carrie Purcell, Martha Leavitt, and Perry K and Natalie Purcell. His sister, Connie Johnson; grandchildren, Jason and Anna Bucholtz, Betsy and Sean Barger, Karly Leavitt, Caleb Purcell, Victoria Lord, Makenna Purcell, and Nate Purcell; great Granddaughters Delilah, Josephine, and Adeline Bucholtz, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Perry is preceded in passing by his parents Martha and Nelson Purcell along with his brother Wayne, sister Phyllis and brother in law, David Johnson.
Funeral service will be held at Discovery Community Church, 1644 S Lindsay Rd. Gilbert, AZ on Saturday December 12 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be offered 1 hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Patriot Guard.
Dolores D. Snitgen
Dolores D. Snitgen died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born February 22, 1939 in Fowler, MI the daughter of Peter and Elanora (Fandel) Braun. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and during her working career she was a sales clerk at the D&C Store in St. Johns and later worked at Jet Speed Printing. She married Fredrick Snitgen in 1986 and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Surviving are three daughters, Kellie (Randie) Strouse, Barbara (Mark) O’Donnell and Lori Bottorff and partner Dean; five grandchildren, Mitchell and Randie Strouse, Cameron Heller, Connor and Liam O’Donnell; great grandchildren, Brinlee and Ava Strouse and Karson Heller; partner, Rick Atkins and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents, four sisters and seven brothers.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic private services will be held and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
James C. Fox
James C. Fox died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the age of 76. He was born June 3, 1944 in St. Johns, MI the son of Charles and Francis (Vitek) Fox.
Jim was an avid toy and pedal tractor collector. He enjoyed tooling around on his golf cart and having coffee with the guys at Patterson’s or Swany’s Pub and Grub. Jim worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 32 years retiring in 2000. On July 23, 1966 he married Joan M. Klockziem and she preceded him in death June 26, 2019.
Surviving is one son, Jary (Erica) Fox; one daughter, Julie Fox; four grandchildren, Zachary (Josie) Fox, Madison, Katelyn and Emma Fox; three sisters, Mary Kus, Priscilla (Gary) Brendahl and Cynthia Janke; two brothers, Linus Fox and Pat (Mary Jo) Fox and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a son Eric.
A graveside memorial service for Jim will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Pastor Andy Croel officiating. Memorials may be made to Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association or Ovid-Elsie FFA for Rural Education Days.
