You can Sponsor the Hope
You have made the birth and amazing years of advocacy work for abused and neglected Clinton County children and youth a reality. Now it is their goal to celebrate the full pay-off of their building during April when they honor National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
In 2018 they entered into a 10 year contract with a generous community partner. This agreement has given them the gift of ownership of the child-friendly beautiful office. With Your help they will complete the 10 year plan in just 3 years by fully paying off their obligation.
As of today they are $8,400 away. They hope you will consider a gift that will solidify this dream. Gifts can be anonymous, in honor of someone, etc. They will honor your preference.
With your support since 2013 they have:
– Established a program advocating and supporting children and youth who are in Clinton County’s foster care system (CASA)
– Created the annual Superhero 5K Run, Walk, or Fly!
– Established a program that coordinates child abuse investigations in partnership with an outstanding professional team (CAC)
– Purchased a beautiful building to best meet the needs of their young clients and their families
– Established Treehouse support services for foster care families, adoptive families, and youth who have aged out of foster care
– Began serving as the county’s Toys for Tots Coordinator
– Brought a four-legged furry Canine Advocate to the county
– Maintained our essential services through a worldwide health pandemic

Donations needed at the Senior Center
As you may know, the Clinton County Senior Center, located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns has been closed for many months due to the COVID pandemic. This means that there has been very little income coming in.
Recently one of the Center’s Board Members decided to be at the center a couple of days a week for a few hours so that people can come in to purchase various items like puzzles, books and many homemade items.
One of the best sellers so far has been puzzles, which the center is running very low on. So if you have any puzzles (children’s through adult) you would like to donate, please drop them off. Puzzles have been a life saver for many of the center’s seniors to keep them busy while sitting at home through this pandemic and cold winter. Puzzles can be dropped off on Mondays between 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Just leave them on the black bench if the door is locked, and someone will come out and get them, or come in on a Tuesday or Thursday between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. when the center board member will be there.
If you don’t have any puzzles to donate, but would like to help, consider coming in to shop on Tuesday or Thursday. As mentioned, in addition to puzzles and hundreds of books for sale, the center has a great variety of homemade items like quilts, baby through queen size, table runners (reversible for the holidays), pillows, book pillows, towels, plastic bag holders, pet blankets and much, much more. These items are all homemade by another volunteer Board Member.
If you need to come in at a different time, call Darlene at 989-224-6605 to make other arrangements.
