SJFD issues burning ban

 

The St. Johns Fire Department has issued a ban on any outdoor burning until further notice. This includes those with an annual burn permit.

The ban is in effect for the fire department’s entire coverage area which includes Bingham Township, Greenbush Township, the east half of Bengal Township, and the City of St. Johns.

Farmer’s Market opens Saturday

 

St. Johns Farmer’s Market opens this Saturday from 8 am to noon. It is located on the west side of the Clinton County Courthouse on Maple Avenue.


SJHS Auto Show is July 17

 

The date set for the St. Johns Auto Program 50th Anniversary Celebration is July 17.

They will be working on getting all the cool stuff they had scheduled before we had to reschedule due to the pandemic. They also expect to have Rhino Dyno coming, so get those engines tuned up for a good time.


Free meals every Tuesday

 

His Cup Runneth Over, a free meal ministry, will be doing free meals every Tuesday starting Tuesday.

Free meals will be given out from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 100 Maple Ave., St. Johns. They will be located in the back southwest corner of the parking lot.

Everyone is welcome to come, and it is free for all who come. For those unable to pick up lunch, please call to arrange for delivery by Monday.

S.A.F.E. Center altering its hours

While the S.A.F.E. Center is always available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the office doors will be open from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

At this time, the Center is requiring visitors to wear masks, and the staff will also be masking in common areas of the office.


Sorting important at Clinton County drop off recycling sites

The Clinton County Department of Waste Management would like to remind residents to take the time to properly sort their recyclables into the proper containers at the Rural Recycling Sites.

The Rural Recycling Sites are located in Fowler and Maple Rapids.

Acceptable materials include all colored glass bottles and jars, metal cans, household plastic containers numbered #1 to #7 (NO Styrofoam or plastic bags please), newspapers, magazines, office paper, junk mail, cardboard and boxboard (NO waxy coated freezer boxes please).

Please remember to empty all recyclables before placing them into the proper bin. No plastic bags are allowed in the bins.

Please help keep the cost of recycling down and make sure what is put into the bin can be recycled.

To earn this academic honor at Saint Mary’s, a student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have a minimum of 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes, and no grades lower than a C.
