Mint Festival will feature Car Show and more

Mark your calendars for the Mint Fest Downtown St. Johns on August 10th and 11th.
The festivities kick-off on Friday, August 10th at 7 pm with Miranda and the M80’s at the beverage tent.
On Saturday, August 11 the festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a market on Walker Street followed by the Mint Fest Car Show at 2 p.m. There will also be a Jeep show from 6-8 p.m. following the car show. To end the day, the Squids Band debuts at 7 p.m. at the beverage tent.

Dean’s Honor Roll at Southwestern College for Spring 2018
Top scholars at Southwestern College in Winfield and at Southwestern College Professional Studies have been announced with the release of the Dean’s Honor Roll for the spring 2018 semester. Full-time students who earned grade point averages of at least 3.70 (4.0 equals an A) were eligible for the honor.

Marquette University’s spring 2018 Dean’s List
A DeWitt student has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2018 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Elizabeth Wojtysiak is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences.
Grand Valley State University Dean’s List
Grand Valley State University announces the names of students who were placed on the dean’s list for the Winter 2018 semester concluding in April. The list includes those students who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average and been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits. The honor is noted on the students’ official records.

Hearing and Vision Screening Clinic
Vision screening is required for all children entering kindergarten. The Mid-Michigan District Health Department offers free vision testing, as well as hearing screening tests for all children ages 3 to 21. WIC Benefit Pick-Up Schedule
Pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children up to 5 years old may be eligible for free food through the WIC (Women, Infants & Children) program. The Mid-Michigan District Health Department WIC Benefit Pick-up Clinics are scheduled as follows:

Leonard announces July office hours
Speaker of the House Tom Leonard, R-DeWitt, will host office hours to meet with local residents and discuss their concerns about state government. Speaker Leonard represents Michigan’s 93rd District.
The coffee hour will take place on Friday, July 13, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Big Boy, 1408 Old U.S. 27, St. Johns
Local residents are encouraged to bring comments, questions and concerns about local government and anything else happening in the local community. Moolenaar Announces July Office Hours
Today, Congressman John Moolenaar announced office hours to be held by constituent relations representatives at locations throughout the Fourth District. The purpose of the office hours is to help residents in need of assistance with a federal agency, like the IRS and the VA.
Office hours have been held monthly and are held when Congressman Moolenaar is in Washington voting on legislation.
