Marching Redwings take First Division ratings again

Even though the Michigan Band and Orchestra Festival had to be postponed for a week the St. Johns High School Marching Redwings added another year’s worth of straight division I ratings to their collection.

Rotary recognizes Sparrow Clinton Hospital caregivers

Sparrow Clinton Hospital caregivers were recently recognized by the St. Johns Rotary as Hometown Heroes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representing the hospital’s team of frontline caregivers were Sparrow Clinton Pharmacy Manager Danielle Rodewald and Emergency Services Department Manager Diane Simon.

Rotarian Bob Craig noted the high ethical standards and exceptional integrity of all of the St. Johns community’s first responders.

Rodewald was honored for her leadership of a dedicated pharmacy team whose community service included organizing local delivery of vaccines and facilitating multiple vaccination clinics at Sparrow Clinton. Simon accepted on behalf of her team of outstanding emergency caregivers.


Lowe UMC to host Trunk or Treat October 24

 

Lowe United Methodist Church will host Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 24 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Everyone is invited to put on their Halloween Costume and enjoy trick or treating.

The church is located at 5485 W Lowe Rd. St Johns, MI 48879.


Daytime Trick or Treating for young children

 

Enjoy a safe Halloween during the day light hours by trick or treating with your young children at these participating businesses on Friday, October 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. These businesses are the official sponsors of the event and will display an event sign in their window. Look for the words “An Event So Good it’s Scary” on the sign. Children must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.

Prime Rib Fundraiser dinner is Saturday, October 23

American Legion Post 153 is sponsoring a Prime Rib Fundraiser dinner on Saturday,October 23, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. or until all is gone.

The consists of Prime Rib, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, salad, roll, and dessert for $25.00 The beverage is not included.

Open to the public; you do not need to be a Legion Family member to attend the dinner.

50/50 raffle drawing at 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds from beverages benefit the Lounge. Proceeds from the meal benefit the ALA 8th District Leadership Development Fund.

Free for Fall event is Saturday, October 16

Clinton County Department of Waste Management is hosting our Free for Fall event on Saturday, October 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in DeWitt Twp. Clinton County residents will be required to register for an appointment to attend this event – location given upon registration.

This event will be just like the spring collection this year in that they are accepting electronics like computer equipment, stereo equipment, phones, etc. and household hazardous waste items (like yard chemicals, pool chemicals, oil based paint, medications, and oil and antifreeze.
