Robert Michael Toth
Robert Michael “Bobby” Toth, age 34, of New Haven, MI, formerly of Ovid passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 18, 2022, with Pastor Andy Goodrich officiating. Burial will take place at South Ovid Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI.
Robert was born in St. Johns, Michigan on March 30, 1987, the son of David Alan Toth and Dawn A. (Morley) Rademacher. Bobby enjoyed kayaking, fishing, grilling with family and friends and spending time outdoors. His children held a special place in his heart and he loved time spent with them.
He is survived by his children Chandler Toth and Dahlila Toth; his parents: David Toth, Jr., and Dawn and Greg Rademacher; his siblings; Alisha and Eric Peters, Justin Toth, Brent Halfman, Jordon and Chelsie Halfman, Craig Rademacher and Kari Johnson, and Corey Rademacher and Nina Harris; his significant other Katrina Kinney and her daughters: Tracie Kinney, Alexandria West, Kaitlyn Vincent, and Madilyn Vincent. He is also survived by grandmothers; Phyllis West, and Carolyn Rademacher; great-grandmother Denise Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother David A. “Davey” Toth III; his grandparents Jean Green Toth, David Alan Toth Sr., Richard Morley, Ed Rademacher and Willis West; great-grandparents Roy Wilson, Peggy Green, and Beatrice Wilson; and uncles: Tim Toth and Matt West.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of his family. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes – Houghton Chapel, Ovid, Michigan.
Ace T. Jernstadt
Ace T. Jernstadt, a long time resident of Maple Rapids died on March 13, 2022 at the age of 61.
Ace was born on April 28, 1960 in Big Rapids, Michigan, the son of James and Betty (Blanchard) Jernstadt. He grew up in Big Rapids, Fowler and Maple Rapids and was a graduate of Fulton High School in Middleton. Ace enjoyed working with Nobis Dairy Farms in St. Johns as a herdsman and milker for over forty years.
He was a huge Nascar fan, an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping in the out-of-doors. He also loved opportunities to hang out with his nieces and nephews and will always be fondly remembered as a ‘wild man’.
He is survived by his children, Michael and Laurie Jernstadt and their mother, Teri Pitchford; his former spouse, Jeanne Gutierrez and her sons, Eric and Jason Benjamin; his grandchildren; his siblings, Honey (the late Karl) Blemaster, J.T. Jernstadt, Carol Jernstadt, Martin (Angela) Jernstadt, and Anna Maier; brothers-in-law, Tim Smith and Tim Maier; aunt, Ruth Blanchard; uncle, Fred Blanchard, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Harvey Geer. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Jernstadt.
Family services will be held privately. Memorials may be made in his name to Maple River Sportsman Supply in support of the yearly Catfish Run.
