Free TIPS training August 6

The Clinton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition is sponsoring free TIPS Server training for businesses wanting to train their staff in their legal responsibilities as well as safe serving practices. The session will be held on Monday August 6 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Mid Michigan Health Department at 1307 E. Townsend Rd.

Servers who practice the sale of alcoholic beverages will learn valuable skills that meet the acceptable standards for serving in any restaurant/bar/nightclub/etc. Upon completion of training, participants will receive a TIPS® Certification.

TIPS® (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is a dynamic, skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking by enhancing the fundamental “people skills” of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol. TIPS gives individuals the knowledge and confidence they need to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and intervene to prevent alcohol-related tragedies.
