Shirley May Orweller
Shirley May Orweller, age 86, of Big Rapids, MI, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Harmony Pines in Big Rapids, MI.
Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at a later date at South Bingham Township Cemetery, St. Johns, MI.
Shirley was born in St. Johns, Michigan on March 31, 1936 the daughter Joseph W. and Marian I. (Horn) Orweller.
She is survived by her brother Robert Orweller and sister Charleen Bellingar. Shirley is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Joseph (Jackie) Orweller; one sister Patricia Greenfield; brother-in-law Eugene Bellingar and sister-in-law Bonnie Orweller.
Shirley’s family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Eli, Marie and the staff of Harmony Pines for the kindness and loving care they gave to Shirley.

Larry Dale Randolph
Larry Dale Randolph, a lifelong resident of St. Johns, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on November 14, 2022.
Larry was born on April 20, 1950 in St. Johns, the youngest of two children born to Dale and Wanda (Waggoner) Randolph. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1968, where he played football, golf and baseball and began his lifelong passion for sports. Larry met the young Jane Glowacki at the diner where she worked and they married on October 19, 1974 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He owned and operated Randolph Excavating and Septic Services for many years.
Larry’s joy was spending time with family and friends, attending football, baseball, and basketball games of grandson, Ethan; dance recitals of granddaughter, Kelsey and MSU Marching Band performances of step-grandson, Nick. As an avid MSU sports fan, Larry and his wife loved MSU football games as season ticket holders for 48 years. He enjoyed going on adventures with his family by traveling from Hawaii to Washington DC, with states sprinkled in between.
Their annual trip to the St. Ignace Car Show in his 1963 red Corvette was always a highlight of the summer. In the fall Larry delighted in deer hunting with his cousins and golf cart rides on trails at Higgins Lakes. Larry loved playing Euchre and last winter he enjoyed teaching Ethan the game.
He will missed by many, especially his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Jane Randolph; his son, Brian (Adrienne) Randolph; his daughter, Lisa (David) Randolph-Stukey; his beloved grandchildren, Ethan and Kelsey Randolph, Nick Stukey; sister, Terrie Randolph; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Diane) Glowacki, Stanley Glowacki, Veronica (Bill) Rozen and Mary VanBurger, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Wanda; his father and mother-in-law, Frank and Anna Glowacki; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Janet) Glowacki, Jim Glowacki, Kay Glowacki, Margaret (Walt) Suchek and Gale VanBurger.
Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 6-8 PM and on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM.
Funeral Service will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 10 AM. Friends may visit the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of the service. Burial Eureka Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Johns.

Alice Darlene Deisler
Alice Darlene Deisler, 95, passed away on November 14, 2022. She was born to parents Forrest and Bessie (Peters) Switzer on January 19, 1927, in Belding, Michigan, where she was raised on the Belding Jersey Farm.
Alice graduated from Belding High School in 1945 as Valedictorian of her class. She went on to study Business at Anderson College and graduated with her BS in 1951. While still raising her family, Alice began her teaching career as an elementary school teacher in 1975 and taught for 16 years. She earned her Master of Arts in Elementary Education in 1979 from Michigan State University. She retired from St. Johns Public Schools in 1991.
Alice loved playing piano by herself, for family, friends, and for her church. She could read music, play by ear, and could transpose keys on the fly. She loved reading a good book, doing crosswords, and playing table games. She also loved her friends dearly, and anyone in the room quickly became her friend.
Alice was married to L Dean Stork during college and later to Ralph Bigelow. At the young age of 76, she discovered “the love of her life,” Glenn Deisler, and they were married on December 28, 2004 in Mattawan, Michigan. Not surprisingly, she outlived all three.
Alice is survived by her six children and their families: Beth (Andre) Henriques, Brian (Dawn) Stork, Keith (Retha) Stork, Kurt (Beth Anne) Stork, Laura (Carl) Breese, and Barbara Heimbach. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Bleiler and Barbara’s three daughters whom she loved like her own. Alice had 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Family can be greeted on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 5-7PM at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns and at 10 AM at the church on Saturday.
Alice’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11 AM at the St. Johns Church of God, 1063 Dewitt Road, St. Johns. Rev. John Mattern will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns Church of God, 1063 Dewitt Road, St. Johns.
Kathleen Ankney-Freel
Kathleen Ankney-Freel, age 66 of St. Johns died suddenly on Saturday November 12, 2022 at her home in St. Johns.
Kathleen was born on February 14, 1956 to Daniel and Wilma (Bregg) Ankney in Jackson, Michigan. After graduating high school, she married the love of her life William Freel and together they made their home in St Johns. They enjoyed over 30 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.
Growing up around the Jackson area Kathleen developed a love for horses at a young age. She was involved with the Jackson County 4H as a kid and received her first horse (Honey Girl) at the age of seven. Her love and passion for horses only grew as her life progressed. Kathleen found joy in judging many horse shows around the country. She enjoyed all styles of horse riding including western and English style. She was known to never backed down from bareback riding even when she fell off, she always got back up. Along with her love of horses she enjoyed crafting and going to craft shows.
Left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Daniel Ankney Jr. and Judith Tripp; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved son, Jay; and her sister, Margret Curtis.

Kyle John Cummins
Kyle John Cummins, age 38, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022, his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 18, 2022. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 3-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Kyle was born in Carson City, Michigan on March 11, 1984, the son of Jonathan Lee and Theresa Ann (Feldpausch) Cummins. Kyle graduated from Fowler High School with the class of 2001.
Kyle was employed with Taco Bell in St. Johns for 10 years. He loved watching wrestling and movies. He also enjoyed reading, camping with his family at Sleeping Bear Dunes and making hobo pies. He always looked forward to house sitting for his mom and dad watching their dog and chickens. Kyle loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother Theresa and Larry Thompson of St. Johns, MI; father Jonathan Cummins of Carson City, MI; siblings: Trenton Cummins and fiancé Zoe Tsang of Chicago, IL; Darrin and Stacy Cummins of St. Johns, MI; Devin Cummins and Lindsey Fryover of Portland, MI; step-sisters: Tracy and James McHenry of Lakeland, Florida; Sara and Mike VanEffen of Shepherd, MI; nieces and nephews: Liam, Adrianne, Josie, Hunter, Bryce, Elsie, Kassidy, and Macy. He is also survived by his grandparents: Richard and Rose Ann Feldpausch of Fowler, MI; aunts and uncles: Glen and Jill Feldpausch of St. Johns, MI; Brenda Feldpausch of Alger, MI; Mary Hart and Kim Erickson of Ana Cortes, WA; Charles and Dr. Nora Feldpausch of Greeley, CO; Yvonne Moore of Fowler, MI; Jenifer and Mike Durland of Hudsonville, MI; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Kenneth and Elizabeth Cummins.
