Annual Chocolate Fantasy is February 9
On Thursday February 9 the Clinton County Senior Center is hosting an evening filled with sweet treats. Their Chocolate Fantasy will feature at least 25 delectable, mouth-watering chocolate creations from area restaurants, chefs, caterers, confectioners and individuals. Approximately 100 people will attend.
Tickets are on sale now. Stop in to the Center at 201 E Walker St. in St. Johns to purchase yours. They are open Monday and Tuesdays from 9-3, and on Friday they are open from 9-2. $10 per ticket.
St. Joseph Church open again for weekend Masses
Parishioners hope to see the inside of their church building this weekend
St. Joseph Church in St. Johns has been issued a Temporary Occupancy Permit. Weekend Masses only will be held in the newly renovated church building beginning on Saturday, January 21.
Because workers need to finish a few the essential items, the church will continue be off-limits Monday through Friday for a couple of more weeks.
Weekday Masses will continue to be celebrated in the Day Chapel until February 7 when the pew installation should be done. The Eucharist will be reposed in the Day Chapel on weekdays for adoration and prayers until the church is completely available again.

The Voice for Clinton County’s Children little libraries are stocked and ready for you. They are located in front of their office. Due to limited inside storage space they welcome donations when there is room inside the libraries.
The libraries available are for whoever needs them and can be found at 1207 N US 27 in St. Johns.

– Test your home – The EPA and the U.S. Surgeon General recommend that all homes in the U.S. be tested for radon. Testing is easy and inexpensive.
– Attend a National Radon Action Month event in your area – Look for radon events in your community.
– Spread the word
– Spend time during National Radon Action Month encouraging others to learn about radon and test their homes.

New art classes being offered
Printmaking Class With Theressa Levett
Tuesday, January 25 6:00 PM
In this creative class taught by Theressa Levett at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn the basics print making. This class is an intermediate level drawing class, requiring you to sketch your own, simple image. Once, your idea is sketched on your linoleum blank, you will use carving tools to etch out your image using positive and negative space (white and black) to create a stamp. Finally, you will roll your piece with ink and stamp it onto paper to finish your artwork (frame is not included).
The cost of this class is $45.

Paper Quilling Necklace Class

In colorful this class taught by Theressa Levett at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn simple paper quilling coil techniques to create vibrant and unique jewelry. Using a slotted quilling tool, you will curl a plethora of brightly colored strips together to make a one of a kind abstract art that you can wear.
Unfortunately, this class is not arthritis or carpal tunnel friendly.
The class is $30.

Beginner Koi Fish Acrylic Painting
Saturday, February 4, 1:00 – 4:00 PM
In this fun and relaxed class taught by Theressa Levett at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn the basics of acrylic painting and create a colorful koi fish painting. The canvas is 11″ x 14″.
The cost of this class is $35.

Slab Rolling and Hand Building Clay Class
In this intuitive, two day class taught by Debbie Fehrenbach at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn the basics of working with clay, as well as slab rolling and hand building techniques to create one-of-a-kind art pieces of your choice, from modern plant holders to platters, sculptures, and more. Once your beautiful creations are bisque fired, you will learn several glazing techniques to decorate your pieces on the second day.
All materials and kiln firing will be provided. Pieces will be glaze fired and ready for pickup at designated time. To be announced in class.
