New calendar marks Historical Society’s 50th

Help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Clinton County Historical Society
The Clinton County Historical Society was established in 1974. To begin the celebration they have collected vintage photographs from around the county to illustrate a 2024 calendar.
Beyond its practical use, the calendar will make a great souvenir or gift. It is now available for pre-order and ready for pick-up by September 14.
The calendar will also be available to purchase at the CCHS Program about the Orphan Train at AgroLiquid, September 14, at 6:30 p.m.

Fall FEASTival weekend lineup for September 14-16
Chalk It UP coming September 14
The Art & Soul Gallery is happily hosting the annual Chalk It Up sidewalk chalk art contest during this year’s Fall FEASTival.
Share your artistic flair in the outdoor air on the pavement or chalkboard of your choice, and flaunt your creative style for a chance to win fun prizes. Draw with your family, friends (up to 4 people) or just your beautiful self.
All ages are welcome. Artists may begin drawing on Thursday the 14th as early as 8:00 a.m. and all artists must complete their artwork by 4:00 p.m. on Saturday the 16th for voting/ judging.

Historical Society presents the Orphan Train September 14
The story of the orphan train will be presented on September 14, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at AgroLiquid, 3055 W. M-21, St. Johns.
Pre-ordered 50th Anniversary calendars will be available for pick up.

1000 Hours Outside at the Briggs is September 14
Folks at the Briggs District Library are celebrating being outside on September 14 at 6:30 p.m. with drop-in stations, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, snacks, leaf and animal track rubbings, animal and bug stamping, and an obstacle course.
You can also learn about the 1,000 Hours Outside initiative and pick up printed logs to track your time outside.
This is an all-ages drop-in program. Spend as much time as you like exploring the different stations. Advance registration is appreciated but not required, and is now open.

The St. Johns Rodney B. Wilson class of 1949 is having it’s 74th class reunion.
The gathering at Swanys in downtown St. Johns will be held on September 14, 2023 at 1 p.m.

The RBW Class of 1959 is gathering for a 64th reunion on September 14, 2023 (Thursday) at the St. Johns City Park in the large pavilion which has been reserved from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.

The streets of downtown St. Johns will host the 4th annual Fall FEASTival on Saturday, September 16 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Barn Dance begins on Saturday, 16 September 2023 from 4:00-10:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.
Join them for Line Dancing, Cornhole, Checkers, Photo Ops, and Refreshments. This event supports Mental Health Support Programs in Clinton County. $10 per person/$40 per family at the door.

St. John’s Lutheran hosts Speaker Series September 26
Join people from St. John’ Lutheran Church for Plan Well, Live Well on Tuesday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 511 E. Sturgis St, St. Johns

SJHS Theatre Boosters meet September 13
St. Johns Theater and Forensics Booster of the St. Johns Public Schools Theatre Department will hold a general meeting on September 13 at 6:30 p.m.
All Parents of the High School and Middle School Theatre Program, Alumni, and Community Supporters are encouraged to attend.
Topics for discussion will include information on the upcoming Golf Scramble, fundraising and an overview of current programs offered.
SJHS Class of 1983 40th Class Reunion is September 30, 2023
The St. Johns High School Class of 1983 40th class reunion will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at The Emerald Golf Course, 2300 W. Maple Rapids Rd, St. Johns, from 7:00-11:00 p.m.
The cost is $35 per person. Please include a note with your payment stating your current name and the name you had when you graduated.

Wood Burning for Beginners is September 12
In this fun and creative beginners’ class at the Art & Soul Gallery, Lauri Stephens will teach you the basics of wood burning, such as how to safely use a burning iron, temperature management, image transferring, and which woods are best to use. You can design up to two, frameable, 5 x 7 illustrations with plenty of time to practice beforehand. Bring your friends, family or just your wonderful self and create.
All supplies will be included. This class costs $35 and meets at the Gallery from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM. The Gallery is located at 215 N Clinton Ave Saint Johns, MI 48879.
