John Nicholas Williams III
John Nicholas Williams III passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. He was born May 20, 1947 to John N. and Katherine (Wheeler) Williams Jr. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Johns High School. John loved his work at Pratt and Whitney AutoAir and passionately pursued his career there for over 45 years, retiring in 2012. He was a talented golfer, a gifted gardener, and enjoying hunting, fishing, bowling, and trips to the cabin at Torch Lake. He was incredibly smart – a “Professor of Practice” in many different arenas.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeannine Williams; his children, John N. (Melissa) Williams IV, William “Bill” (Kimberly) Williams, and Chad (Anita) Williams Lycos; his stepchildren, Jeffrey O’Loane and Wendy O’Loane; his grandchildren, Pepper Williams, Kelsey, Peter, and Nicholas Lycos, Brandon, Carter, and Bradley Williams, Aiden and Avery Kersten, Rebecka Smith, and Jacob Weir; his four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ernie (Ellen) Williams, Kris (Deb) Williams, and Loismarie (John) Newhouse. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Shawn O’Loane.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. in East Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to the American Heart Association or the Capitol Area Humane Society.
Jane A. Idzkowski
Jane A. Idzkowski died Monday, January 6, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born April 13, 1930 in Iron River, MI the daughter of Raymond and Velva (Kinney) Anderson. Jane was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the First Congregational Church in St. Johns.
She was a volunteer for the Bloodmobile and blood drives in St. Johns. She was a former member and officer of the Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary and an avid MSU sports fan. During her working career she was a Registered Nurse working primarily at Sparrow Hospital. On August 2, 1952 she married Edward Idzkowski, and he preceded her in death in 2003.
Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Idzkowski and husband Tom Pile, and twins Elizabeth and Rebecca Idzkowski; a granddaughter, Emily Zuker; son-in-law, Dan Zuker and a sister, Betty Mullins. She was also predeceased by two daughters, Christine Wallace and Joani Zuker.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held Friday January 17, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to Clinton County CASA 1207 N. Wendell W. Workman
Wendell W. Workman died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born July 3, 1940 in St. Johns the son of Arden and Lucretia (Steavens) Workman. Wendell served in the US Navy. In his youth he was active in the Boys Scouts. Wendell retired from the Kroger Company after 33 years of service. He then worked for a brief time at Federal Mogul Corp. then went to work at Katren Industries in St. Johns. On August 20, 1965 he married Janice Beechler and she survives him.
Also surviving is one daughter, Suzanne Workman; one son, Jeffrey (Bette) Workman; three grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Pitchford, Courtney Workman and Victoria Workman; two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Nolan Pitchford; one sister, Janet Herblet; one brother, Carl Workman and a sister in law, Christine Cobb. He was preceded in death by brothers in law, Ronald Cobb and Tom Beechler.
Following Wendell’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the Sparrow Home Hospice team especially nurse Angela and all the wonderful team at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for all the love and care that the family received. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
B. Joanne Sullivan
B. Joanne Sullivan, age 72, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Hazel Findley Manor, St. Johns, MI.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held place at a future date to be announced.
Joanne was born in Wenatchee, Washington on April 1, 1947, the daughter of Jack Gibson and Thelma Joyce (Butler) Webster. She graduated from Nathan Hale High School and Way College of Biblical Research. Joanne married David Sullivan on July 16, 1980 in Rome City, Indiana.
Joanne was past director of the Clinton County Senior Center and was a past treasurer for the Lioness Club. She was a member of MENSA and involved with Caring and Sharing Family Life Services. Joanne was involved in the community and enjoyed volunteering.
She is survived by her husband David Sullivan of St. Johns, MI, children: Christine and David Vacca of Olmsted Township, OH; Jessica and Ian Forsyth of Ann Arbor, MI; and Thomas Sullivan of Melborne, FL. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.
