Imogene May Beck
Imogene May Beck, age 93, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Addington Place, DeWitt, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Burial will take place at Eureka Cemetery, Eureka, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Imogene was born in Lansing, MI on August 7, 1926, the daughter of Frank S. and May Belle (Taylor) Harger. She married Bud Beck on August 12, 1946; Bud passed away on November 24, 1998.
Imogene was a member of Salem United Methodist Church having held many offices within the local, district and conference levels. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, District Treasurer and the Women’s Christian Temperance Organization. Imogene was also a member of M.A.R.S.P. having been a teacher for 26 years in the country school, Elsie and St. Johns Schools.
She is survived by her son Darrell and Patricia Beck of St. Johns, MI; grandchildren: Jeanette Beck of Whitmore Lake, MI; Drew Beck of St. Johns, MI; Timothy Beck of St. Johns, MI; great grandchildren: Frank, Oliver, Heath and Heather Beck, Alyssa, Kaylin, and Ethan Beck and great great grandson Owen Beck. She is also survived by brother Roy and Deloris Harger of St. Johns, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, son and daughter in law Donald and Debra Beck, and brothers: Edwin Harger and Vernon Harger.

Larry J. Barbour
Larry J. Barbour died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the age of 73. He was born June 18, 1946 in Stockbridge, MI the son of Robert and Marjorie (Thomas) Barbour. Larry was a graduate of Stockbridge High School, Class of 1965. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing a round of golf and was an avid bowler. Larry loved spending time with family and friends at Chippewa Lake. He retired from Federal Mogul Corp. in 2004 with 34 years of service.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Jeanette (Boak); one son, Jeffrey (Brenda Post); Brenda’s children, Shaun (Samantha) Post and Nicole Post; Brenda’s grandchildren, Braxtyn and Oaklyn; brothers in law, Ken Shevrovich, Allen (Carol) Boak, Robert (Linda) Boak and Richard Boak (Mary Ann Baxter). He was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Shevrovich and sisters in law, Cheri Boak and Eileen Monasmith.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, March 20, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
In following the CDC guidelines for COVID-19, gatherings will be limited to no more than 50 persons. Those who attend, please keep your time at the visitations as brief as possible and avoid personal contact such as shaking hands or hugging, and promote maintaining a safe personal space.
Jason A. Seltin
Jason A. Seltin, age 56, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020. Jason was born on October 1963 in Lansing, MI, the son of Richard and Edith (Hulett) Seltin. He graduated from East Lansing High School and received his BA degree from Michigan State University and Criminal Justice Degree from Lansing Community College. Jason worked as a System Administrator at Delta Dental. Jason was enthused with photography, reading, and woodworking.
He is survived by his son, Benjamin R. Seltin of St. Johns and brother Christopher Seltin of Royal Oak, MI.

Herbert Emil Dingler, Jr.
Herbert Emil Dingler, Jr., age 66, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020, at his home.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Herbert was born in Marion Township, Michigan on September 4, 1953 the son of Herbert E., Dingler Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Kendall) Dingler. He graduated from Merrill High School. Herb was a cement truck driver for local businesses all of his life. He enjoyed camping, hunting and spending time outdoors. He looked forward to spending time with his family and close friend Doris.
He is survived by daughter Jill and Heath Wood of Lansing, MI; granddaughters: Alexis and Mariah Wood; sister Sandy Loyd of Kentucky; brothers: Gary and Karen Dingler of St. Charles, MI; Jim Dingler of Arizona; Tim Dingler of Marion Springs, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Brenda Walters, Connie Hodges, and one brother Tara Dingler.

Mark Daryl Allen
Mark Daryl Allen, age 65, of Maple Rapids, MI, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Sparrow Health Systems Sparrow Campus, Lansing, MI.
Cremation has taken place and per Mark’s wishes no services will be held.
Mark was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 1, 1954, the son of Donald Allen and Nancy (Warren) Allen. He graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1972. Mark married Sue Henry on May 30, 2009, at their home.
Mark had worked at Sealed Power/Mahle for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, logging and spending time in the woods. He was always doing something and liked to keep busy. Mark loved trips to his cabin in Frederick, MI.
He is survived by his wife Sue Allen of Maple Rapids, MI; children: Jessie Allen of Duck Lake, MI; Zack Allen of St. Johns, MI; mother Nancy Allen of Maple Rapids, MI; sister Brenda Maniaci of St. Johns, MI; brother Stephen Allen of Gaylord, MI; and granddaughter Kadyn Allen. He was preceded in death by father Don and his aunt Virginia Allen.

Sylvia Marie Tyler
Sylvia Marie Tyler, age 64, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Sparrow Carson Hospital, Carson City, MI.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Sylvia was born in St. Johns, MI on May 17, 1955, the daughter of Lawrence and Kathrine (Atherton) Stevenson. She graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1973. Sylvia enjoyed art, sewing, music and playing guitar. She also liked gardening and flowers. Sylvia loved her cats very much. Sylvia enjoyed time spent at Sleepy Hollow swimming with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, St. Johns, MI.
She is survived by her daughter Julie Bishop of St. Johns, MI; son Jerry Bishop and Jenn Stewart of Owosso, MI; life partner Terry Chapko of St. Johns, MI; grandchildren: Parker, Braidan, and Brennan Bishop; mother Kathrine Stevenson; sister Carolyn and Gary Rose of Lake Odessa, MI; brother Don and Carol Stevenson of Fulton, MI; and aunt and uncle Bev and Gary Stevenson of St. Johns, MI. She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Stevenson.

Dennis J. Foster
Dennis J. Foster went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the age of 66. He was born on October 14, 1953 to Frederick (Fritz) and Thelma Foster, the sixth of eight children. A strong work ethic was instilled in him when he was young. As a youth, Denny had a newspaper route delivering the Lansing State Journal. He then went on to work at Kroger then to Motor Wheel. When Motor Wheel closed, he won a scholarship to attend college to become a corrections officer and worked for DeWitt Public Schools as a custodian while attending those classes. Denny worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections for 25 years, retiring in 2009. Denny loved watching all sports, especially the MSU football and basketball games.
Family was extremely important to Denny, and his greatest pride were his grandchildren whom he loved very much. He is survived by daughter, Angela Witt, son, Ryan Foster, daughter, Monica Foster and son, Daniel (Ashley) Foster; grandchildren, Egan and Keevan Witt, Kalin Foster, Bryce and Lillian Foster and Aylah Wilson. He is also survived by his siblings, Roger (Judy) Foster, Ronald Foster, Diane (Dave) Watts and Linda (Mike) Timmons along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Heidi Foster and brother-in-law, Harold (Pat) Graber. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marlene Graber and brothers, Gary and Dale Foster.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Lowe United Methodist Church 5485 W. Lowe Rd. St. Johns with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, March 17 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Those attending visitation are encouraged to wear Spartan attire. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Lowe United Methodist Church.
