Jonah F. Becker

Jonah F. Becker died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the age of 26. He was born May 19, 1994 the son of Tim Becker and Tina Stage.

Jonah was a fire safety engineer for Boynton Fire Safety Services in Lansing. He was loved beyond measure by so many family and friends and will be missed by all. He married Paigelyn Hulliberger on June 1, 2019 and she survives him.

Also surviving is his son, Hendrix; father, Tim Becker; mother, Tina Dewey; sister, Shelby Jones; brother, Gavin Dewey; parents-in-law, Joe and Kristeen Hulliberger.

Private services will be held for Jonah. Memorials may be made to the family. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.

Robert E. Ayles

Robert E. Ayles, age 83, of Fowler, MI, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at The Willows in East Lansing, MI.

A Graveside Service will be held at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI.

Robert was born in Lansing, MI, on February 7, 1937, the son of Henry and Lottie (Adams) Ayles. Bob married Irene (Schafer) Duda on July 3, 1971 in Fowler, MI.

Bob owned and operated Ayles Tree Service from 1975 until his retirement. He was a hard worker, very meticulous and mechanically inclined. Bob loved being around people. All those who knew him considered him a friend. He was very helpful to others and someone you could always count on.

Bob had an infectious smile and loved spending time at the cottage. He had a never- ending list of projects and was always involved in sharing his time and talents, with his friends. He loved taking his family on pontoon rides and spending his weekend with them. He will be dearly missed by his family and those fortunate enough to have known him.

He is survived by his wife Irene Ayles, children: Robbin and Thomas Clickner, Karen and Dennis Bartlett, Robert Ayles Jr., Anthony and Suzanne Duda, Tina Duda, Valerie Duda; and twin sister Roberta (Robert) Pitchford. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son John Duda and brother Douglas Ayles.

Memorials may be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church for Masses. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes – Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI.

Daniel C. Witt

Daniel C. Witt, age 59 passed away at Sparrow Hospital on Saturday, June 20, 2020. He was born on April 2, 1961 the son of Carl and Dorothy (VanElls) Witt. Daniel graduated from St. Johns High School in 1979 and worked in construction.

He is survived by his fiancé, Jan Powers(Witt), son, Kory (Melissa) Witt, grandchildren, Kaila, Karli, Kayden and Kyra. Mother Dorothy Witt. Also surviving are siblings, Diane Witt, Terry (Joanie) Witt, David (Sally) Witt and Debra (Gordon) Carman. He was preceded in death by his father Carl in 2019.

Janet Lynne Schwartz

Jan was welcomed to the world on July 27, 1949 to the family of Rex and Mable Collins of Chesaning, Michigan joining sister, Anne and brother, David. She left us on June 17, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Jan graduated from Chesaning High School in 1967 as Salutatorian of her class. During that time she captured her husband, Les, and they enjoyed 51 years together. Jan went on to graduate from Lansing Community College with a degree in Nursing. She worked for Lansing Pediatrics Associates for 38 years. Jan was an avid quilter and crafter who loved to collect birds, salt marsh pottery and tea cups.

Left to cherish Jan’s memory is her husband; children, Jennifer (Clarence) Natto, Allison (Erol) Miskin and Brian; granddaughters, Julia and Jordan Natto, Sena Miskin; sisters, Anne Gross and Sue Soldan; in addition to many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Jan is preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Collins and sister, Pat Garrod.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave., East Lansing, Michigan 48823. Service times will be announced at a later date due to COVID restrictions.
