26th annual Stroke for Life
Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a relaxing day on the course while contributing to a great cause by participating in the July 14 Stroke for Life Golf Scramble sponsored by the Sparrow Clinton Hospital Foundation.
The 2010 scramble is held on the Emerald Golf Course. Known as “the gem of mid-Michigan golf courses,” the Emerald is just a 10-minute drive north of St. Johns on US 127. The course was designed by renowned golf course architect Jerry Matthews and features a wooded, northern theme.
A total of 64 teams, 260 golfers, are expected to hit the links during morning and afternoon flights with awards given to the top women’s, men’s and mixed teams. Prize contests include putting, chipping and hole-in-one.
The Stroke for Life has raised more than $630,000 since 1984, funding essential facilities and technologies at Sparrow Clinton Hospital. Funds raised at the 2010 scramble will be used to purchase a computerized video colonoscopy system.
Team and sponsorship opportunities are still available. To register a team, offer sponsorship, donate prizes or volunteer at the event, call the Sparrow Clinton Hospital Foundation at 989.227.3396. Information also is available by visiting www.clintonmemorial.com.
