Holiday pre-empts Arts Council’s First Sunday Open House

image.jpgA local artist will be featured at Clinton County Arts Council’s First Sunday Open House, but his talents won’t be displayed until the second Sunday!  A delay is prompted by the July 4 holiday stealing the first Sunday from the Gallery’s schedule, moving the monthly event one week to July 11.
image.jpgThomas J. Tomasek of Ovid, an accomplished, self-taught artist with a passion for creating and sharing art with others, will be on hand to display and discuss many of his works.  Tomasek, a skilled mixed media and landscape painter, is recipient of numerous awards and is frequently invited to exhibit his works throughout Michigan.  He holds a strong interest in regional and environmental themes and inspires others of all ages in the course of teaching art to elementary students and adult learners.

Tomasek’s paintings are included in many private collections in both Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas along with being included in collections across the U.S. in such locations as New York city, Washington, D.C., Glendale, AZ and Redding, CT.  He is owner of an impressive list of awards and frequently participates in scheduled juried exhibits.

While being delayed one week, the monthly open house attraction will offer the usual two hour period – 1-3 p.m. – and a variety of refreshments.
