Come fly the friendly skies of St. Johns

image.jpgFriday, July 9 at 6:00 pm will find Max Dollarhite and friends (all members of the Lansing Area Flying Aces) buzzing around demonstrating a variety of model airplanes on the ground and in flight at the depot in St. Johns as the third night of Fun Family Fridays.
Kids young and old can all join in as they assemble and test fly their very own small airplanes which will be given out. After a sufficient amount of time has been given for practice, contests will be held to see who can fly their plane the farthest; who can keep theirs up in the air the longest and who can fly theirs the most accurately.

Adding to the fun, Sharon Shutes has offered to come back to do some more face-painting, volunteering her time.
Starting at 7:00 pm the audience will be treated to flights of musical fantasy. Fourteen-year old Taylor Fernandez, who was named both the Clinton County Idol and the DeWitt Ox Roast Idol in 2009, will be sharing the stage with Robert Edwards, a talented musician who attends St. Johns High School. They will sing and play guitars, performing modern acoustic and country music, both separately and as a duo.

Taylor is the 2009 winner of both the Clinton Co. Idol and the DeWitt Ox Roast Idol. She is 14, and attends Grand Ledge High School.

Robert Edwards is soon to be 15 and goes to St. Johns High School.
