Fred and Claribel (Wilkie) Mayers celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on August 7 in Lakeland, Florida. Fred was a dairy farmer in St. Johns and Claribel taught elementary school for over 25 years in the St. Johns area schools. They spent most of their lives in the St. Johns area and also lived on Rainbow Lake before moving to Lakeland, Florida permanently 5 years ago.
Their three children hosted the event which was attended by children, grandchildren and great grand-children plus many friends and relatives.
