Arts Council schedules Painting and Bead Classes

A series of painting classes in watercolor, oil and acrylics has been scheduled by Clinton County Arts Council under special arrangement with instructor Susan Fernolz. Each technique will involve six class sessions which will be held at the Artemisias Gallery located at 3805 West M-21. The watercolor sessions will begin Wednesday September 15 with class times from 1-4 p.m.
Acrylic painting groups will meet beginning Friday October 15 from 1-4 p.m. followed by working with oils on Saturday October 16, also from 1-4 p.m. Registration fee for each is $20.00 per session and can be completed by contacting the Arts Council Gallery at 989 224.2429.
“Ms Fernolz’ classes have become a part of our regular scheduling,” explained Mike Muehlenbeck director of the Arts Council. “Her previous sessions have been exceptionally well received and her studio provides an ideal instruction venue. However, space at the Artemisias Gallery is limited and the instruction is so detailed that class size is restricted to six students, so those interested in registering would be well advised to sign up soon.” Registration for any class may be completed by calling the Gallery, 989 224-2429.
Instruction classes are but one of many programs and events coordinated and offered by the Clinton County Arts Council. The next scheduled occasion is the regular First Sunday Open House, September 12, featuring a display of unique Ukranian eggs presented by Mary Ellen Darnell. Ms Darnell will be showing three special designs accompanied by the history and significance they hold for the Ukranian culture.
Also in September, those interested in crafting earrings or bracelets might want to check for information at the Gallery. Deborah Laverty will be holding two beading session, one on September 23 and again on October 21. Both will be two hours in duration, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Along with scheduled attractions and events at the Gallery, many art, craft and gift items are available for purchase at the Gallery which is open Tuesday through Friday from 10-5:30 a.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
