Remembering Etha Eisler
I see that Etha Eisler passed away. The obituary says she worked at the D&C Store but in the early 1960s she worked at the St. Johns Egg Station at 312 N. Clinton Ave.
Her job, when I worked there, was to take a 30 dozen case of eggs and load them on the egg conveyor that checked them for size and then slowly fed the eggs to the ladies in the back who candled them. With the exception of the magnified light they used, they worked mostly in the dark. It was a very monotonous job.
