Be aware in your travels around the St. Johns area that you might encounter someone running toward you waving a near three by five inch yellow ticket and asking for money! Most likely, that person will be a member of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary hawking sales for the group’s gift shop holiday raffle.
“It’s but one of the several annual projects we have to raise funds in support of the hospital,” explained Kathie Clock, Auxiliary fund raising chairman. “Our initial holiday raffle last year was very successful and added to the Auxiliary’s purpose of providing support for needed equipment and patient care.”

Carey Harris, left, and Judy Minner, display the leading item in a group of three to be raffled off Dec. 15 at Sparrow Clinton Hospital gift shop. The prize shown is a gold-tone lighted deer and sleigh.
This year’s raffle includes three items that will be given to winners whose names will be drawn during a raffle at the gift shop Wednesday Dec. 15. Items include a gold-tone, lighted reindeer and sleigh display, retail value of $79.99. The two other prizes consist of lighted, holiday candy canes festooned with traditional holly and a seasonal themed, framed picture perfect for the holidays. Value of the candy cane display is $49.99 and the picture is $35.00.
Tickets for the drawing are being sold for $1.00 each or six for $5.00 and all members of the Auxiliary have a generous supply.
“Participating in this sale is another indication of how dedicated our members are in support of the hospital,” commented Ms Clock, “particularly at this time of the year when everyone is busy with family and holiday plans.” Aside from member sales, tickets are also available at the hospital gift shop.
