A Look Back

Thanksgiving Turkeys
By Barry Bauer

Mrs. Frank Coykendall displays two fine looking turkeys that ended up on somebody’s table for Thanksgiving in 1937.

This flock of turkeys, owned by James Wright, will also be ready in time for Thanksgiving. These turkeys are just a few of the 2,800 turkeys already sold and heading for the market. Mr. Wright had the biggest turkey flock in Clinton County.
Mr. Wright was recognized throughout the state as an expert and although turkeys are hard to raise, it doesn’t seem like a problem for him. He also worked with the young kids hosting a Clinton County 4-H Club summer camp.
