Gift Shop Holiday activities produce winners

Between selling raffle tickets and merchandise, members of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary were a busy bunch from Thanksgiving to Dec. 17. That’s the date the Auxiliary named winners of prizes from a raffle and gift shop purchasing promotion.
From Thanksgiving on, Auxiliary members hawked raffle tickets for three prizes and at the same time conducted a purchase event in the hospital gift shop, “Gift Therapy.” The raffle tickets were sold through out the area by members while the gift shop activity was centered on customer purchases. For every gift shop purchase, the buyer’s name was placed in a box – the more purchases, the greater chance of winning.

Drawings for both events were held Friday Dec. 17. The general raffle winners were Barb Pierce, who took the top prize of a lighted reindeer and sleigh display, ideal for any mantle or centerpiece. A Styrofoam candy cane display was taken by Roberta O’Connor and Eileen Thelen received a framed print.

Two ladies, Jan Upton and Julie Andrews were winners of the in-store gift shop promotion. Ms Upton received a lighted Christmas themed story book while Ms Andrews won a ceramic penguin dressed for the season.
As with all programs and promotions sponsored by the Auxiliary, proceeds are given to the hospital for specific needs and patient comfort.
