Visit Gallery’s monthly Sunday Event

Resumes March 6
What has become a lead item on Clinton County Arts Council’s monthly agenda will make its 2011 debut Sunday March 6 with the year’s initial “Sunday Event.” Featured artists for the opening gathering will be the works of high school students from around Clinton County.
Arts Council Director Mike Muehlenbeck pointed out that it’s “kinda like a no holds barred” session as the students are encouraged to present any creation be it painting, sculpture, craft or off-the-wall concept defiant to description. “Past presentations by the students have been very well received,” he said, “and the variety of entries has been most exciting. The various pieces displayed during the show suggest we have a group of creative minds in our schools.”
Students from all high schools in Clinton County – St. Johns, DeWitt, Fowler, Ovid-Elsie and Pewamo-Westphalia – will have items on display and will be on hand to discuss each entry.
The first “Sunday Event” for 2011 will be sponsored by Al’s Spraying. As in the past, refreshment will be served during the two hour showing which runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
With this event opening the Council’s new year, Gallery hours will resume normal operations which are, Tuesday through Friday, 10a to 5:30p and Saturday 10a to 2p. The Gallery is closed on Monday.
