Baker offers Continuing Competency course

Residential Builders and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors
In order to better serve prospective builders, Business & Corporate Services is offering a 3 hour continuing competency course to help existing builders meet new State of Michigan requirements. Individuals who were initially licensed prior to January 1, 2009 are required to have 3 hours of continuing competency. Three hours of continuing competency is required in order to renew existing builder’s licenses before May 31, 2011.
The course is approved by the State of Michigan and covers all 3 required elements including 1 hour of building codes and laws, 1 hour of safety and 1 hour of changes in construction and business management laws. The course will be offered on April 18th, May 9th, May 23rd and May 26th from 6:10 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Baker College, Welcome Center in Room C & D.
Baker College will certify that participants have met individual parameters as established by the State of Michigan and will issue a certificate verifying completion.
Sessions are facilitated by architect Jed Dingens, AIA, LEED AP, the owner of Dingens Architects. Mr. Dingens is an Approved Instructor by the State of Michigan for this specific course.
