CCH welcomes new ophthalmologist

Brandy Cook, D.O., has joined the staff at Carson City Hospital. Dr. Cook is a board-certified opthalmologist joining James Seals, O.D., Tad Bartz, O.D., and Garrett Whitmore, O.D., at their Carson City office. Dr. Cook also sees patients at Sparrow Clinton Opthalmology in St. Johns.
Dr. Cook received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Cook also spent an additional year in fellowship training for neuro-ophthalmology.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Cook will offer the following services at the Carson City location: no-stitch cataract surgery with advanced technology lenses; eyelid lifts; in-office stye/skin tag removals; diabetic, macular degeneration and glaucoma care; emergency eye care; routine examinations; and second opinions.
“I’m very excited to be serving patients in Carson City,” said Dr. Cook. “My goal is to improve each patient’s quality of life through preservation and restoration of vision, and to serve their best interests through education about specific eye conditions and direct patient involvement in treatment decision-making.”
Dr. Cook’s office in St. Johns is located at 1002 N. U.S. 27, inside Avery Eye Center. Her office in Carson City is located at 102 S. Third St., Suite 400.
