Cell Phones for Local Soldiers and Veterans
Alan Nelson of the Cellular Connection in St. Johns presents Dennis Scott representing the American Legion Post 153 in St. Johns with a Check for $600 from the “Cell Phones for Local Soldiers and Veterans” program through the Cellular Connection, a Verizon Premium Wireless Retailer in St. Johns.

Throughout the year The Cellular Connection donates to The American Legion Post 153 for the months of January, February and March; The St. Johns Military Moms for the months of April, May and June; The VFW Post 2115 for the months of July, August and September; The Disabled American Veterans for October and November; and the Andrew Nelson Memorial Scholarship Fund for the month of December.
Other than December, the proceeds are used to send care packages to our local men and women who are stationed around the world and/or other projects locally to benefit our local Military Heroes and Veterans.
If you would like to donate your old cell phones for this program, drop them off at The Cellular Connection at 800 S. U.S. 27 (in the Southgate Plaza next to Little Caesars) in St. Johns. Thank you to the community for supporting this project! In loving memory of our son PFC Andrew Nelson – KIA 12/25/06 Baghdad Iraq”.
