Construction on CCH campus

Carson City Hospital (CCH) began a construction project on Wednesday, April 20, near the entrance to its Emergency Department. The project, which is expected to last four to six weeks, will involve the construction of a holding pad for temporary placement of the hospital’s fixed MRI and 64-slice CT scanner when updates or servicing need to be performed on this important medical equipment.
“This project will not interfere with patient care, and we are planning ahead to ensure the least amount of inconvenience to visitors to our campus,” said CCH President and CEO Bruce L. Traverse, FACHE. “We are placing signage to direct patients and visitors to temporary side entrances during each phase of the project, and will do everything we can to make this project as seamless as possible.”
The first phase of the project will involve demolition of the area outside the west door near the existing Emergency Department patient entrance. During phase two of the project, the Emergency Department patient entrance will be temporarily closed and visitors will be directed to enter through the west entrance of the Emergency Department, just a few feet away from the existing entrance. Security fencing will be in place throughout the entire project.
“We want to thank the community in advance for their patience during this project,” said Traverse. “We are personally notifying our surrounding neighbors as we expect some demolition noise and want to minimize the impact of this. If construction activity or noise becomes disruptive to patient care at any time, the project team will be instructed to cease work.”
