The beautiful Rotary Park Pavilion has been completed at the Downtown St. Johns Train Depot, and it is certain to become a favorite destination for get-togethers and special events. The inaugural opening of the Pavilion will take place on Saturday, June 25th as it hosts the St. Johns Principal Shopping District event “SUMMERFEST – The FIRST Barbecue of Summer”.
The St. Johns Principal Shopping District Board will be hosting “Summerfest – The First Barbecue of Summer” on Saturday, June 25th in the Rotary Park Pavilion at the St. Johns Railroad Depot at 107 E. Railroad Street in historic downtown St. Johns.
The entire town of St. Johns is invited to participate in this inaugural event opening the Rotary Park Pavilion by joining the Community Barbecue. Bring your own grill from home, your choice of meat and your own secret recipe for your friends and family to enjoy.
Grilling begins at 6:00 p.m. Avid barbecue grilling enthusiasts can also participate in our Summerfest BBQ Grilling Contest. This BBQ competition is open to anyone interested in showcasing their personal barbecue skills. The food prepared by the contestants will be tasted and judged by an independent Summerfest BBQ Grilling Contest judging panel, and awards will be given for best placements based on flavor, creativity and presentation.
