Hospital Auxiliary Outing
In a field of 18 foursomes, Mohre Soft Water of Lansing captured the top spot during Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary’s fourth annual all-women fund raiser golf outing at The Emerald. The Mohre group came in one stroke ahead of Beth Swears foursome with a 68 and two up on third place Fifth Third Bank team.
Despite periodic rain sprinkles throughout the day, the Auxiliary was the true winner for a fourth successful outing that added over $4,500 for eventual hospital support. Part of that is directly attributable to the team sponsors and various businesses who generosity ensured a great day for local health care.
Aside from the top team standings, there were other winners as well, including Dee Dee Galesk who was winner of a 50/50 drawing. Colleen Koenigsknecht won the putting contest, but Debbie Masarik took honors for the longest put. Others included Brenda Barber who drove closest to the pin on hole #8 and Nancy Durner boasted the longest drive of the day.
Kathie Clock, who co-chaired the event with two other Auxiliary members, Robin Ingalls and Chery Goff, expressed appreciation for another successful outing and extended a note of thanks to all of the business and individual sponsors. “For the fourth consecutive year we have enjoyed a wonderful day,” she commented, “and for the success and fun, we must thank the players and the many businesses that really support the Auxiliary in this effort.”
Ms Clock was referring to firms such as First Bank, sponsor of the opening Continental Breakfast, Agro-Culture Fertilizers who hosted lunch at the turn and Jim McKenzie Agency, sponsor of the day’s end Deli-Buffet. As in the previous outings, Allaby and Brewbaker again offered the prize for anyone acing a hole.
Others adding their name as a hole sponsor included Ovid-Elsie Animal Clinic, Avery Eye Care Center, Bee’s Sports, Galesk Tree Farm, Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, Wooden Nickel Refinishing, The Country Store, Osgood Funeral Homes, Robert Jensen, DDS, Hub Tire Center, Foster’s Pub, St. Johns Mini Storage, Masters Auto Wash & Quick Lube Center, Sirrine & Associates, Nicole’s Salon & Day Spa, Mike White Farm Bureau Insurance, Golden EFX Hair and Body Salon, Big Boy Restaurant and The Back Edge Salon.
