Movie Premiere and Fundraiser

The Michigan Experience: The Civil War Years Hosted by Westwind Milling Co., LLC and Argentine United Methodist Church
8572 Silver Lake Rd. Linden, Michigan.
Enjoy an historic 1861 Dinner at Westwind Milling Co., starting at 6 pm. on Saturday, August 6, from 6 until 10 pm $50 per person, RSVP before July 25, 2011.
Visit with several historical figures from the Civil War while you dine as Americans would have during this time. The menu will consist of all local and/or organic Michigan foods, prepared in a style appropriate to the era.
Then, at 7:30 pm, we will transport you to the Argentine United Methodist Church, just across the street, to be the very first to view the premiere of this fascinating film. The film examines Michigan’s role in the Civil War and the impact it had on its outcome and on the people of this state. Everyone in attendance at the film gets a copy of the new DVD, as well!
“The Michigan Experience: The Civil War Years”, presented by iMichigan Productions, will be aired publicly for the first time on Veteran’s Day, 11/11/11, on PBS affiliate, WKAR-Lansing. The timing of the film is in honor of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. We thought it appropriate to hold this fundraiser at our Mill, one of Michigan’s Historic Sites one that had been milling flour for 25 years by the start of the Civil War.
