Free entertainment

A big part of Mint Festival Weekend
With so much to do at the Annual Mint Festival, some people forget to just bring their lawn chair and spend some leisurely time listening to and watching the free entertainment.
Things kick off on Fri, Aug 12 at 3:30 pm with The Lazarus’ and Friend. This is a small group brought in specifically for Senior Citizens Days. A country western group Whiskey Diski and the Barrel Boys gets the evening started at 6:30 and the Brenda Loomis Band tops things off from 8-10 pm at the Performance Shell.
Saturday includes some regional favorites: Louie Longoria from 3:30-5 at the Performance Shell, the Children’s Ballet Theatre from 1-2 on the County Fairgrounds and the Stan Saylor Band in the Arts & Crafts Entertainment Pavilion from 11:30 am to 1 pm. The headlining evening band is the Fabulous Oldies But Goodies, a 50’s 60’s band that will perform at 8 pm in the Performance Shell.
Sunday includes a variety of music including contemporary musician Christopher Hall, Steve “Elvis” Hunt (2:30-4 at the Performance Shell) and several dance groups.
There will be many other musicians and dance groups in addition to the above mentioned performers, including Pan Flute music at the pavilion in the Flea Market area throughout the weekend and several Dog Shows at the north end of the park. For a complete entertainment schedule, go to www.clintoncountychamber.org/mint. There are still a few openings for performers.
