Rita J. Teremi
Rita J. Teremi, formerly of Ovid, MI. died Monday, August 22, 2011 at the age of 87. She was born December 29, 1923 in Altona, MI the Daughter of Leroy and Jesse (Tripp) Griffin she resided in Shepardsville for 55 years. She married Benjamin Teremi in November, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1976. Rita helped as a cook and server at Senior Citizen dinners in Ovid, and enjoyed crossword, Jigsaw, and various other puzzles.
She is survived by Daughters; Sonja (Raymond) Page of Mayfield, KY and Jean (John) Barrett of Carson City. Sons; Kenneth (Sandy) of Bath and Dennis (Judy) of South Point, OH. Grandsons; Gary Page, Tony Barrett, Brad Barrett, Kenneth Teremi Jr. Troy Teremi, Bradley Teremi, Grandaughter, Amy Barrett. Brothers Wilbert and Donald Griffin. Sisters Elma Arnold, Ila Kost, Deana Moore and Virginia Dunn; 8 Great grand children and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson Ronald Page as well as brothers Harold, Robert, and Jack.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday August 26, 2011 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Hazel officiating. Burial at Deepdale Memorial Park, Lansing, MI. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Huntington, The American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.

John J. Ladiski, age 92, of Elsie, MI passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Marcel Portelli officiating. Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M.
John was born in Topician, Czechlosovakia on September 5, 1918, the son of Victor and Augusta Ladiski, the oldest of 7 children. His parents immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island when he was two years old. On November 14, 1942 John married Mary Kirinovic in St. Johns, Michigan, they were married 57 years. Mary died on May 4, 1999. John served his country in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946. World War II took him to England, France, Belglum and Germany. John was a life long dairy and crop farmer. He enjoyed gardening and giving away the fruits of his harvest. John resided most of his life in the Elsie area. He was a member of the American Legion Post 580 Elsie, Michigan and a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church Bannister, MI.
He is survived by 6 daughters; Barbara and Tony Rosales of Lansing, MI, Mary Ann and Richard Fizzell of Dewitt, MI, Paula and George Harris of Laingsburg, MI, Kay Cummings of Fremont, MI, Patricia and James Ziola of Elsie, MI, Christine and Tim Evans of Elsie, MI, 1 son John Ladiski of Elsie, MI, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sisters; Mary Cerny of Elsie, MI, and Mildred and Frank Chapko of Elsie, MI, and brothers; Paul Ladiski of Ovid, MI, and Frank and Jenny Ladiski of Elsie, MI; sister in law, Irene and Joe Magryta of Flushing, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, 1 sister Betty, and 1 brother Peter.
Memorials may be made to the Elsie Food Bank or Save our Seniors in Owosso, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, Michigan.
Charles Clark, Sr.
Charles Clark, Sr., died August 21, 2011, at the age of 70. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, on June 11, 1941, the son of John and Kathleen (Fenby) Clark.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Karen Clark, Elizabeth (Mark) Fraim, Luanne Clark, son, Charles Clark Jr., grandchildren, Sara Acevedo, Mackenzie Acevedo, Justin Acevedo, Maria Alborell, Courtney Fraim, Lindsay Fraim, sisters, Linda Dennis, Bonnie Ryal, Wilma Clark, Cheryl Clark and brother, Robert Clark. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Clark, Jr.
A graveside service will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, August 24th at the Union Home Cemetery, North of St. Johns with Rev. Steven Lang officiating. His family will receive friends 11am to 1 pm prior to the service at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. Memorial contributions will be made to a charity of his family’s choice.
