The Carson City-Crystal Area Schools Foundation (CCCASF) 5th annual Golf Outing raised more than $9,500 when it was held on August 12 at Huckleberry Creek Golf Course in Pewamo.
“Thanks to the great turnout of 80 golfers at this annual event, we will be able to award 20 mini-grants to the Carson City-Crystal Area Schools teachers during this Christmas season,” said CCCASF President Nancy Seals. “We’re so lucky to have this great community involvement in this event. It really makes a difference for our teachers and our students.”
Four $100 first-place prize awards were given to the following individuals in the following categories: Mixed Couple: Rob Seals, Nancy Seals, Cory Schneider, and Mitchell Schneider; All Men: Chad Parmenter, Dan Herald, Mark Borden, and Mike McAlvey; and All Women: Sue Riker, Jan McCrackin, Judy Brown, and Carol Wiles. The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Scott Baker. Lunch at the event was provided by Up In Smoke BBQ of Crystal and Muffin Top of Carson City.
Next year’s CCCASF Golf Outing will be Friday, August 10, at 9 a.m. at Huckleberry Creek Golf Course in Pewamo.
The CCASF exists to give back to the school through scholarships, student financial assistance, purchasing educational supplies and assisting with facility enhancements at Carson City-Crystal Area Schools. Since the organization’s inception in 2006, more than $75,000 has been raised through various fundraising projects, bequests and donations.
