Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon
Stop by the Carson City Hospital (CCH) Community Health Expo on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon for give-aways, free flu shots, blood-pressure checks, cancer education, cholesterol checks and a wide variety of health information. The annual event, which is free to the public, is held at Carson City-Crystal High School in the West Gym.
“This is our thank you to the communities we serve,” said CCH Vice President and COO Matt Thompson. “Everyone will really have a great time with all of the kid-focused activities we have planned, in addition to all of the free health screenings and information available.”
Fun, free events for children and families will include inflatables, health screenings, unique handwashing demonstrations, give-aways and prizes. For the third year in a row, the Health Expo will be held in conjunction with a Kids Mile Fun Run, which will take place at 9 a.m. the same day at the Carson City-Crystal High School track. The Fun Run is for 3-year-old and up children and will include participant badges for all. Download a registration form on the hospital website at www.carsoncityhospital.com. Health Expo booths on display from 9 a.m. to noon will include several departments from Carson City Hospital and throughout the community, including Carson Family Care Center, Carson Behavioral Health, Carson City Hospital Physical Rehabilitation Center, the Carson Apothecary Shoppe, Carson City Chiropractic, the Center for Women’s HealthCare, Donohue & Donohue, DDS, Montcalm County Commission on Aging, Sparrow Cancer Center, and many more. The first 150 visitors to the Health Expo will receive a special gift from Carson City Hospital.
“St. Mary’s Hall, just a block away from the Health Expo, will be hosting its popular annual Craft Bazaar on the same day,” said event coordinator Shelly Weaver. “So it’s really a fun-filled day in Carson City, and worth the drive if you’re coming from out of town.”
