Auxiliary Poinsettia sale

Part of Chamber’s Christmas Show
A new event has been added to Clinton Sparrow Auxiliary’s fund raising inventory and will be one of the group’s features during the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce Arts and Crafts Show Saturday Dec. 3.
Auxiliary fund raising chair, Kathie Clock, explained that the latest activity is a special holiday poinsettia sale. “We feel that the traditional holiday flower provides us with an opportunity for a fund raising sale that compliments our spring flower sale,” she said, “and what better setting for a first effort than the annual Chamber Christmas show?”

Carey Harris, left, and Shirley Edwards display a couple of raffle prizes along with a fan of tickets that may well pave the way for some lucky winners.
The Chamber of Commerce event this year will again be held at the RESA location, 1013 S. U.S. 27, from 9a to 3p. All persons attending the show who visit the Auxiliary’s poinsettia booth, whether buyers or not, will receive a coupon valid for a 25% discount on any purchase made on Dec. 3 at the hospital gift shop. “We have a remarkable holiday inventory at the gift shop,” Ms. Clock said, “and we hope to encourage visitors to browse and discover the many gift opportunities.”
As for the poinsettia sale, there is a variety of offerings and colors ranging in price from $5.00 to $15.00 with plant sizes ranging from 4½ to 6 inches tall, with a range of blooms corresponding to height. There is a special, captivating red, 6” poinsettia plant called “winter rose” that will be available at a exceptional price of only $10.00.
Along with the first annual poinsettia sale, Auxiliary members will again have holiday raffle tickets for sale during the Dec. 3 Chamber show. This year’s prizes include, first place, a solar snowman, shown in photo, valued at $80.00. Second place winner will receive a solar Rudolph sculpture, a $65.00 treasure. Runner-up will receive a lighted Christmas scene (shown) valued at $50.00. Ticket sale is already underway and will extend to Dec. 13 when drawings will be held in the hospital gift shop around 6:15 p.m.
The gift shop is located near the main entrance to the hospital and is open from 10a to 7p, Monday through Friday. All proceeds from the gift shop operation are directed toward the purchase of an emergency room bedside monitor.
