Hospital Auxiliary names raffle winners

A line-up of winners and stand-ins gathered at the Sparrow Clinton Hospital gift shop included Patricia Walker, Shirley Hacker, Kari Schneider and Judy Bozung.
Winners present and in absentia, shared a common interest recently when Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary identified the names of lucky participants in two holiday drawings held each year to raise funds and promote activity in the hospital gift shop.
While the two events run concurrently, each represents a specific Auxiliary purpose and in the end brightens the holidays for some happy winners. Kathie Clock, fund raising chair for the Auxiliary, explained that each year the group holds a general raffle with members hitting the streets with tickets in hand to raise funds in support of hospital projects. The second event serves as a reward for shoppers who patronize the hospital gift shop with holiday purchases of $20.00 or more. The names of qualifiers become eligible as possible winners. Drawings for each activity are held at the same time.
This year’s winners of the general drawing were Patricia Walker and Shirley Hacker. Respectively, each received a snow sculpture and a print of a winter landscape. Tracey Simmons, who was unable to attend, will receive her prize later.
Gift shop winners were Agnes Schafer and Judy Bozung. The former won a lighted holiday scene; the latter, a happy snowman. Ms Schafer was also absent. Kari Schneider accepted in her stead.
“While some of our winners couldn’t be with us,” commented Ms. Clock, “we’re most pleased with this year’s activities. It is deeply gratifying to see how the community responds to our efforts in support of Sparrow Clinton Hospital. Also, I offer note of thanks to our members who cheerfully participate in our projects throughout the year.”
The next Auxiliary event: Snow Day at the Emerald. That is set for Saturday January 28 and details of the fourth annual happening will be announced soon after the holidays.
