Michigan's Mentoring Month

January is Michigan Mentoring Month and National Mentoring month which was designed to help more people become aware of mentoring.
To support the 2012 Michigan Mentoring Month, the Clinton County 4-H Youth Mentoring will mark the occasion by hosting an open house to highlight the work of current mentors within the program, share mentors stories, and progress data. Join us on Tuesday, January 31st from 6:30-8pm at the Clinton County Courthouse in St. Johns for refreshments, desserts, and appetizers.
Since January 2008 we have matched 167 youth with 102 adults and teenagers and currently have 48 mentors matched with 52 youth. Over this time 91% of the mentees involved in the program feel like there are more people who will help them out because of the relationship with their mentor. In addition, 84% of mentees involved in the program over the last three years have felt more confident because of the relationship with their mentor.
Visit the Clinton County 4-H Mentoring Open House on the 31st and learn how you can put the 2012 theme “Pass It On” into action. We are celebrating and highlighting the everyday, ordinary people who are making a difference in Clinton County 4-H Youth Mentoring.
Learn about how you can “Pass It On” by becoming a mentor or supporting the program. Mentors and supporters don’t need special skills-all they need to do is care about kids and be willing to volunteer about an hour a week.
