Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary members Kathie Clock and Chery Goff cram a stack of golf outing flyers into a kiosk at the St. Johns Post Office.
It’s early for such activity, but they’re out there. Golfers, that is.
Driven by an annual spring fever that arrived ahead of schedule this year and, seemingly, more relentless than in the past.
Members of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary have succumbed to the bug by laying plans for their fourth annual golf fund raiser June 29 at the Emerald Golf Club.
A recent meeting of the fund raising committee put a wrap on initial assignments and members have begun hitting the streets in search of various sponsors; support that is vital to the ultimate success of the event.
“Essentially, there are five sponsorship levels,” explained Kathie Clock, fund raising chair. “At the top is the event sponsor at $2,000.00, with recognition for supporting the entire schedule of activities.”
Others identified included hosting the Deli-Buffet at day’s end, $450.00; Lunch at the Turn, $375.00 and Breakfast, $225.00. Hole sponsors are $50.00 each.
A four-person team registration is $300.00 and individual registration is $70.00 per golfer.
The all-women tournament began four years ago as “Chicks for Charity,” a title loaned to the Auxiliary by Tena Jegla. Following last year’s outing, the name was changed to “Gals for Giving,” a permanent designation supportive of Sparrow Clinton Hospital.
