James G. Stump, Matthew James Wood, Ruth M. Comstock, Milo Wesley Maneval, Jeannie Elizabeth (Seavey) Simon
James G. Stump
James G. Stump passed away on September 5, 2012 at the age of 48. Born May 20, 1964, in Ionia, Michigan, the son of Leon and Theresa (Schafer) Stump. Jim was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He worked for Westphalia Electric for 25 years, loved University of Michigan Football, the Detroit Tigers and playing horseshoes.
Jim is survived by his mother, Theresa Stump, of Pewamo, nine siblings, Pam (Tom) Schrauben, Judy (Stan) Simon, Lori (Kevin) Fox, Brenda (Kurt) Bengel, Bob Stump and Glen Stump, all of Westphalia, and Pat (Pam) Stump, Rick Stump and Randy Stump, all of Pewamo, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Stump.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo with Fr. Charlon Mason presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Chapel in Westphalia, from 7-9 p.m., Thursday with rosary being prayed at 8 p.m., and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Friday with a rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo, or Sparrow Hospice Services.
The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.


Matthew James Wood

Matthew James Wood passed away on August 23, 2012. Matthew was born on August 23,2012. He was the son of Rob and Rachel Wood.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Friday, September 7, 2012 in the chapel at Deepdale Cemetery in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in a memorial donation to Tomorrow’s Child of Michigan www.tomorrowschildmi.org.

Ruth M. Comstock
Ruth M. Comstock, 93, was born on February 19, 1919 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Karolina (Person) Johnson and died peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2012. Ruth was a graduate of Wheaton College in 1941 and later retired as a bookkeeper and was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Johns, MI. Ruth married Jack Comstock on June 4, 1949 and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1980.
Ruth is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carolyn (Mike) Wyatt of Davisburg, MI. Ruth was also preceded in death by her only son, Michael Comstock.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at The Osgood Funeral Home, 104 East Cass St, St. Johns, with Pastor Ellen Zienert officiating and burial to follow at Payne Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice, 2360 Stonebridge Drive, Flint, MI. 48532.

Milo Wesley Maneval

Milo Wesley Maneval, a loving, selfless family man and loyal friend was suddenly called home September 1, 2012. Milo was born July 17, 1943 in St. Johns, Michigan to Clyde Wesley and Onalee Katherine (Carver) Maneval. As a young child he moved to Wolverine, Michigan enjoying family life by helping on a small farm where they ran a riding stable. Later the family returned to Eureka where Milo graduated from St. Johns High School. He was honorably discharged in 1969 from the Michigan National Guard. He was a member of Eureka Christian Church. Following 39 years of service as a General Motors skilled trade electrician he retired in 2003.
Milo married his soul mate Brenda in 1982. They were blessed with a rich love spanning over 30 years, walking hand in hand to raise a family and make every day a special memory. They filled their lives with love for one another, amazing adventures and gratitude for God’s gifts. Milo was a contented man who felt the cup of life was full to the brim. He was a talented horseman who took enormous pleasure in raising, training and riding horses. He was a member of the Appaloosa Horse Club. He was a sportsman who looked forward to deer season when he could spend time in the woods walking and talking with God. He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Sportsman Club. He loved family gatherings at the lake, campfires under starry nights and his friends with whom he rode the trails of life. He was a man who would forever lend a hand, console a hurting heart and strive to do the right thing.
Milo was predeceased by his parents and sister, Marilyn Leavitt. Milo will be desperately missed by those who survive him, his wife and best friend, Brenda Gayle Maneval and wonderful children for whom he was grateful every day of his life, Todd Maneval, Rebecca (Terry) Stockton, Tara (Ed) Paksi, Joel (Kelly Bradish) Helmer, Ty Maneval, Tazia (Renzie) Milarch, Tab (Amy) Maneval; 11 special grand children and 1 great grandchild, who are dear to his heart. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Cindy (Jerry) Sanderson and cousins, Leroy (Martha) and Melvin (Betty) Sutfin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday September 5, 2012 at the Eureka Christian Church, 2619 Maples Rapids Rd. in Eureka with burial at Eureka Cemetery, Pastor Keith Whipple is officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. His family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.


Jeannie Elizabeth (Seavey) Simon
Jeannie Elizabeth (Seavey) Simon, passed away on August 29, 2012 at the age of 54. Born July 25, 1958 in Muskegon, Michigan, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Sullivan) Seavey.
Jeannie is survived by her children, Ryan Simon, Mary Simon and Laura Simon, all of Stanton, Michigan. She’s also survived by her siblings, Tom (Suzie) Seavey, Joe Seavey, Stan (Janette) Seavey, Leo (Kathie) Seavey, Erin (Jeff) Penney, and her nieces and nephews, Erin, Katie, Julie, Anne, Joe, Tom, Jacob, Emily, Stan II., Tim, Sarah, Jessica, John, Leo, Margaret, Sean, Maddie and Seamus. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Sullivan Seavey.
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, with Fr. Michael Williams presiding. Burial will follow the mass at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alcoholics Anonymous. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
