Cynthia Ann Tiedt, Lois J. (LaBar) Anderson, Edmund Louis Miller
Cynthia Ann Tiedt
Cynthia Ann Tiedt died Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the age of 74. She was born August 2, 1938 in St. Johns the daughter of Allen “Bill” and Hilda (Fedewa) Weed. She was a graduate of Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns, Class of 1956 and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Cynthia was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed playing golf and bowling. On June 23, 1962 she married Allen Tiedt and he survives her.
Also surviving are two sons, Craig of St. Johns and Scott (Rhonda) of Fairview, TX; four grandchildren; one sister, Kathy (Sterling) Kyd and one brother David (Lisa) Weed. She was preceded in death by a son James in 2009 and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday September 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 109 Linden, St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams as Celebrant. Following Cynthia’s wishes cremation will follow the Mass. The family will receive relatives and friends 6-8 PM on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.


Lois J. (LaBar) Anderson
Lois J. (LaBar) Anderson, age 72, died Saturday, September 8, 2012 after a very brief battle with Cancer. Lois was born on February 2, 1940 in St. Johns to Cecil and Dorothy (Bingham) LaBar. Lois Retired with Federal Mogul after 35 years of service. Lois enjoyed riding motorcycles with her fiancé Eugene Bellingar and together they were members of The Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Lois is survived by daughters, Melissa (Dan) Rue, Laura (Dan) Harbenski and Wenda (Armond) Smith. Also surviving is her fiancé Eugene Bellingar, sisters, Sue Hardman, brothers, Dennis (Eunice) LaBar and Michael (Belinda) LaBar, brother in law, Kent Daley, grandchildren, Lyle Parkinson, Alesha (Jason) Haynie, Edwin Parkinson, Nicole (Tom) Furlano, Nina (Rick) Dibble, Noel (Jessica) Smith, Amber (Eric) Martin, Cody Smith, Billi Jo (Nic) Ney and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Rebecca Daley and Florence Kay LaBar , as well as a son William J.C. Bancroft, III.
A memorial service will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at The Osgood Funeral Home with Pastor David Hudgens officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Contributions in Lois’s memory may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.

Edmund Louis Miller
Edmund Louis Miller of Pewamo, age 90, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012. He was born on February 10, 1922 in Fowler, MI the son of Fred and Edith (Feldpausch) Miller. Mr. Miller served on the Pewamo Fire Department for 28 years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8071, member of the V.F.W. Post #3733 Fowler, Westphalia, Pewamo, served in the U.S. Army, 120th Infantry, Company H 30th Division in the European Theater, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Ed loved hunting and fishing, and his pride and joy was being the caretaker at St. Joseph Cemetery for many years.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Eveline Miller; children, Ken (Sharon) Miller, Michael (Roseann) Miller, Ann (Roy) Simon, Mary Jane (Doug) Walter, and Dan (Debra) Miller; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Schueller and Theresa (George) Fox; sister-in-laws, Sandra Miller, Kathleen Miller, Patricia Miller, and Joanne Miller. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Carl Miller, Richard Miller, Fred Miller, Jim Miller, and Herman Miller; sister, Helen Frechen; great grandsons, Lucas Reddin and Holden Weber.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo, with Rev. Charlon O. Mason presiding. Military Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post #3733 at the church. Rite of Committal will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pewamo. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, and 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the St. Mary Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. Rosaries will be prayed at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, and 2:00 p.m. Sunday, and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Post #3733 or the Pewamo Fire Department, in memory of Ed. Complete arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.


James G. Stump
James G. Stump passed away on September 5, 2012 at the age of 48. Born May 20, 1964, in Ionia, Michigan, the son of Leon and Theresa (Schafer) Stump. Jim was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He worked for Westphalia Electric for 25 years, loved University of Michigan Football, the Detroit Tigers and playing horseshoes.
Jim is survived by his mother, Theresa Stump, of Pewamo, nine siblings, Pam (Tom) Schrauben, Judy (Stan) Simon, Lori (Kevin) Fox, Brenda (Kurt) Bengel, Bob Stump and Glen Stump, all of Westphalia, and Pat (Pam) Stump, Rick Stump and Randy Stump, all of Pewamo, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Stump.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo with Fr. Charlon Mason presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Chapel in Westphalia, from 7-9 p.m., Thursday with rosary being prayed at 8 p.m., and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Friday with a rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo, or Sparrow Hospice Services.
