Senior Center accepting donations

Gift Shop
A couple of ways the Clinton County Senior Center makes money to fund the expenses at their center is to run a Gift Shop at their facility and to sell handmade items at craft shows a couple times a year.
You can help by donating new or gently used items such as nic nacs, decorating items, reading & cookbooks, puzzles, jewelry, pictures, magazines, etc., that can be sold in the gift shop. They do not accept clothes, shoes, furniture, luggage, sports equipment, etc – they simply do not have the space for these types of items. You can come and shop at the Senior Center Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri between 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
For the craft shows the senior center is looking for fabric (cotton or flannel), quilt batting, thread, ribbon, embroidery floss, etc ., that they can pass on to people that will make items to sell. Or, if you want to donate items you have made, those would be most appreciated.
The center is also looking for new or gently used stuffed animals. Some are sold in the gift shop, but most are used for bingo prizes. Bingo is played twice on week on Tuesday’s and Friday’s at 12:30 pm.
Items can be dropped off at the Senior Center at 201 E Walker Street (corner of Spring and Walker, one block north of M21), or you can call Darlene Terpening at 989-224-6605 to arrange for someone to pick up the items. If you drop off items, please put Terpening’s name on the bag or box.
If you have any questions about other fundraising activities at the Senior Center, contact their fundraising chair Brenda Terpening at 989-224-7248.
