Lions Club helps needy children with vision problems

The St Johns Lions Club would like to thank Dr, Mark White Optomotrist from Avery Vision Eye Care and Dr. Brandy Cook Opthalmologist with Sparrow Clinton Opthalmology for their continued support of the Lions Preventative Eye Evaluation for Kids (P.E.E.K.) Program.

Dr. Mark White joins the latest group of needy children with vision needs that have been helped by our Lions and Lioness clubs.
The Lions Club mission is to save children’s eyesight ” one child at a time”. With the continued support the St Johns Lions and Lioness clubs have received from our local eye care professionals, and the Clinton Great Start Program, “WE SERVE” Lions and Lioness will continue to help children in Clinton County with vision problems.
Helen Keller, through her companion Anne Sullivan-Macy made an eloquent plea to Lions, who were attending the 1925 Lions International Convention at Cedar Point Ohio, ” to become the Knights of Blind and vision impaired people”. Since that date Lions and Lioness clubs everywhere have focused on helping youngsters and adults with vision problems.

Dr Brandy Cook is shown here with a youngster that was helped by our Lions and Lioness vision program.
