Planned October 24 at Arts Gallery
If you’re a woman, you’ve probably admired beaded jewelry worn by another and wondered if she had made the pin or pendant herself. Chances are she did and you can too by enrolling in an upcoming beading class offered by Clinton County Arts Association.

The “Introduction to Making Beaded Jewelry” class will be held Wednesday October 24 from 6 to 9 o’clock in the evening at the Arts Association Gallery. The class will be open to anyone age 14 and older and the registration fee of $25.00 includes all necessary supplies and written instructions.
Deborah Laverty, a regular instructor at the Arts Gallery, will conduct the class and ensure that students complete the project to their satisfaction. Ms. Laverty has been beading since 1993. She is a member of the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild and has exhibited her work at various Art Fairs around the state and in several Lansing area galleries. In addition to periodic classes in St. Johns, Ms. Laverty has many of her pieces on display at the Arts Gallery.
Students who enroll in the upcoming class will make a striking Beaded Bead that will become a focal piece of a necklace. Other uses for the completed project would be application to bracelets or earrings. Experience produces creativity and by the use of beads of various sizes, the crafter opens endless application possibilities.
