Holiday Program and more
It’s that time of year again and the library will be offering family fun at 3 holiday programs! At each program you will be musically entertained by the Caroling Kids @ Briggs, Santa will have stories from the North Pole and will visit with each child. While you are waiting for your time with the man in the red suit your family can enjoy holiday games, crafts and refreshments.
Choose one of these dates and mark your calendar: Thursday, December 6th (6-8pm), Friday, December 7th (6-8pm), or Saturday, December 8th (10-Noon). Registration is not required for these free programs.
Tween Holiday Program
All ‘Tweens ages 9-12 are invited to our Christmas Craft Workshop on Tuesday, December 11th from 6-8pm, where we will work like Santa’s elves constructing a variety of festive projects and preparing a sampling of holiday treats. Registration for this free program is required, and will begin on Tuesday, November 20th.
Bookaholics Book Club
If you’re looking for something good to read, join us at Bruno’s Bar in downtown St. Johns for the next meeting of the Bookaholics Book Club. There is no group selection for this month, so members are reading any book of their choice and then sharing it with the group when we meet on Thursday, November 15 at 7:30pm. Who better to introduce you to your next favorite book than a fellow Bookaholic?
Mitten Tree
The library will begin our annual mitten drive starting Monday, November 12th and ending Monday, December 10th. Mittens, gloves or scarves must be new (home-made or store bought.) The collection is for all ages, adult or child. Items collected will be donated to charitable organizations
Food Drive
Beginning Thursday, November 1st, Briggs Public Library would like your help in filling up our lobby display case with non-perishable food items to donate to local food banks. Bring your canned and dried goods to the circulation desk and we will place them in the display case. *Please note: cans and boxes are preferred over glass containers and food expiration dates will be observed before acceptance. Food donations will be accepted until Monday, November 19th! What a great way to teach our children to care for our friends and neighbors in need!
Library Closures
The Library will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday Nov. 21st and be closed Nov. 22nd, 23rd and 24th for the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout these closures.
