Geraldine I. Farrier
Geraldine I. Farrier, age 84, passed away November 7, 2012 in St. Johns, Michigan. She was born on January 30, 1928 in Windsor Township, Michigan, the daughter of John and Elsie (Twitchell) Gardner. She married Rev. Wesley Farrier on September 27, 1944 in St. Johns and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2008. Geraldine worked at Saylor Beall and served faithfully alongside her pastor husband for many years.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Robert (Sharon) Farrier, Marilyn (Ellis) Brumbaugh, Terry Moore and John (Renee) Farrier, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Luella Harrington and Gladys Church and special friend Carol Hoffer. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Betty Jean, 5 sisters and 1 brother.
A memorial celebration will take place 1 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Hope Bible Baptist Church, 508 S. Maple St. in Maple Rapids with Pastor Steve Lang officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Bible Baptist Church in Maple Rapids. The family would like to express their special thanks to the staff at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor. They are being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
John Arthur Loucks
John Arthur Loucks passed away on November 6, 2012 at the age of 46. Born October 29, 1966, in Lansing, Michigan. He was the son of Patrick and Janet (Little) Loucks.
John is survived by his wife, Mary Salazar, three children, Nathan Loucks of DeWitt, Samantha Loucks of St. Johns, Justin Loucks of St. Johns, his mother, Janet Loucks of St. Johns, one brother, Christopher (Denise) Loucks, as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Loucks.
A memorial mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns with Fr. Michael Williams preceding. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday November 23, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns.

Loretta Yvonne Thornton
Loretta Yvonne Thornton, 77, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at her home in St. Johns. She was born June 18, 1935 in St. Johns, Michigan the daughter of Edwin and Theda (McCullough) Rademacher. She retired from Clinton Memorial Hospital. Loretta had a deep love for her family and her faith. We were all blessed by her positive attitude and sense of humor.
Surviving are her two sons Jeff (Mary Ann) of Caledonia and Everett (Jill) of St. Johns; one daughter Ginger (Mike) Story of West Olive; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Teresa VanDeusen of Ovid, Shirley Russell of St. Johns, Doris (Cal) VanDeusen of Rochester Colony, Rosie Steffen of St. Johns and special friend and companion Ken Perry. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Natalie Story and her sister Marie Bancroft.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at Duplain Church of Christ, 5565 Colony Road, St. Johns MI 48879. The family will receive relatives and friends 4-7 PM Sunday November 4 at Rochester Colony School near the Duplain Church of Christ on Maple Road. Memorials may be made to the Rochester Colony Historical Society. Arrangements by Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing.
Almina (Becky) B. Owensby
Almina (Becky) B. Owensby, age 89, passed away on December 3, 2011. She was born and raised in St. Johns, MI. Mrs. Owensby went to St. Lawrence Nursing School in Lansing, MI. earning her RN diploma in 1944. She then went to John Hopkins where she earned her post graduate degree in Surgery. She became a Certified Registered Nurse of Anesthesiology after receiving her Anesthesiology degree. She worked at Emory University Hospital’s Anesthesiology Department for 22 years before retiring in 1978. Mrs. Owensby was a loving, caring, endearing Christian woman.
She is preceded in death by Patrick Owensby (husband) and Jeffrey P. Owensby (son) and survived by Jerome (Mary) Owensby of Rainbow City, AL., Terrell Owensby of Decatur, GA and one granddaughter, Brittany of Cleveland GA.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday November 3, 2012 at Eureka Cemetery with Pastor Keith Whipple officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., prior to the service, at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns.
