Arlene Valere Hull
Arlene Valere Hull, 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2:15pm with her loved ones by her side. Arlene was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 5, 1943 to Lewie and Mildred Hull. She became a Registered Nurse at the age of twenty and for the next 49 years she loved giving care to those that were in her charge. She retired in 2010 after 29 years at Pitt Memorial Hospital. She was a member of a philanthropic group that raised money for a variety of charities. She supported animal rights, Vietnam vets, Green Peace, Humane society, Smile Train, and The Salvation Army.
She was predeceased by her three loving siblings, Dick Hull, Doug Hull and Mary Hull. She is leaving behind 5 nieces and one nephew, Brenda, Lisa, Candy, Lewie, Marcia, and Rebecca, also four great nephews, Christopher, Richie, Tyler, and Mike. She also leaves behind Sharon Camp and Lori Osier to whom Arlene was like a Mother, her God Daughter, Christina Osier, and grandchildren, Aaron, Renée, PJ, Rebecca and Regan.
A Memorial Service for Arlene will be held 11 A.M. Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St Johns, Michigan, burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Arlene’s name to the Human Society’s pet adoption program, Arlene had a huge heart for animals; all of her pets were in some way adopted.
Sandra Hoenecke
Sandra Hoenecke, age 73, died November 9, 2012 in Lansing, Michigan. She was born June 5, 1939 in California, the daughter of Glen McEntire and Ruby Loving. Sandra married Ron Hoenecke on April 23, 1999 in Grand Ledge, MI and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2008. Sandra was a loving mother, devoted wife and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Sandra is survived by her children, Pamela Page and Catherine Thelen, Steven (Lisa) Fisher and Robert (Amanda) Cook, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Janet (Jack) Brown and Bonnie Grandy and many nieces and nephews. Along with parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Betty McEntire and grandson, Zachary Thelen.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, Michigan with burial at Sowle Cemetery in Maple Rapids. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Osgood Funeral Home. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services PO Box 650309. Her family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
Joy A. Fox
Joy A. Fox, 61 of Ovid, MI died on November 8, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI following a brief illness. Joy was born on November 9, 1950 in Owosso, MI the daughter of Martin and Joyce (Porritt) Bukovick. She graduated from Owosso High School and on Sept. 2, 1967 married David R. Fox at Shepardsville Church. Joy had worked at Beck’s Farm Market, Goff Food Store, Ovid IGA and Ovid Nursing Home. She enjoyed knitting, Seek and Find Puzzles, reading and playing games on her computer, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by husband Dave, daughter, Jodi Fox of Owosso and son Todd (Leandra) Fox of Ovid. Grandchildren, Justin Fox and Addyson and Todd Fox Jr; siblings, Sandra Hofacker and Mary Crutts both of St. Johns, Dan (Ellen) Bukovick of Ovid, Michael (Wendy) Morrish of Flint, Ron Morrish of Davison, MI and Deborah Morrish of Davison, MI
She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother Tom Babcock.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of the Living Word, 1100 N. Ovid Rd., Ovid, MI with Pastor Audie Clairmont officiating. Memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 230 Huron View Boulevard, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. The family is being served by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, MI
Jack Wilber Craig, Jr.
Jack Wilber Craig, Jr. found his peace on November 6, 2012. He was born two months premature at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in Oceanside, California on February 8, 1954. He was born a fighter and stayed that way until the very end.
He will be welcomed into heaven by his parents; Jack W. Craig Sr. and Margaret Craig, baby sister; Margaret, niece; Brandy Presson, brothers in law; Russell Presson and Jim Richard as well as his grandparents and many friends and family.
Left to carry on remembering him is his only child; Sara (Mike) Kurka of Ovid, also his grandchildren; Aubrey and Mason Kurka of Ovid, his sisters, Vicki Richard of Laingsburg, Linda (Bob) Jameson of Englewood, FL, Peggy (Alan) Bryson of Rives Junction, Penny (Roger) Reha of Elsie and one brother, Dan Craig of DeWitt.
Jack lived a colorful life. He loved riding motorcycles, driving fast, back roads, working, good food and telling anyone that would listen about his daughter and grandchildren. He retired from GM in 2006 working mostly in plants 1 and 3. He was a member in good standing of the U.A.W. local #652. He will be deeply missed but always remembered with a smile.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday November 11, 2012 at the United Church of Ovid, 131 W. Front St, Ovid, MI 48866. The family was served by Osgood Funeral Homes.
