Homegrown Productions is pleased to announce auditions for “Plaza Suite” by Neil Simon. The play is composed of three acts, each involving different characters but all set in Suite 719 of New York City’s Plaza Hotel.
The first act, Visitor From Mamaronek, introduces the audience to not-so-blissfully wedded couple who are revisiting their honeymoon suite. The second act, Visitor from Hollywood, involves a meeting between a successful movie producer and his old flame, a suburban housewife. The third act, Visitor from Forest Hills, revolves around a married couple on their daughter’s wedding day.
Auditions begin at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, and Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the Rodney B. Wilson Auditorium, 101 Cass St., St. Johns. The performance dates are March 15-24.
Individuals should come prepared to read from the script; sorry, perusal scripts are available prior to auditions. You must be 18 years old or older to audition.
The characters, with suggested ages, are: Sam Nash (40+), Karen Nash (40+), Jesse Kiplinger (30+), Muriel Tate (30+), Roy Hubley (40+), Norma Hubley (40+), with cameo appearances by Bellboy/Waiter (male, any age), Jean MacCormack (30+), Groom (20+), Bride (20+).
