Intro to Beading Class
A two-session introductory beading class is scheduled for successive Wednesdays Feb. 20 and Feb. 27 at Clinton County Arts Council’s Gallery in downtown St. Johns. The classes will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are open to all students age 14 and older. There is a registration fee of $35 which includes all materials and supplies.
Students will craft a detailed bracelet comprised of various beads, with some the size of which may challenge the eyesight, yet nevertheless deceivingly easy to create. The finished piece will attract admiring attention.
This substantial bracelet is deceivingly straightforward to make, resulting in a detailed accessory that is fascinating to the eye.
Deborah Laverty, a regular instructor at the Arts Gallery, will conduct the class and ensure that students complete the project to their satisfaction. Ms. Laverty has been beading since 1993. She is a member of the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild and has exhibited her work at various Art Fairs around the state and in several Lansing area galleries. In addition to periodic classes in St. Johns, Ms. Laverty has many of her pieces on display at the Arts Gallery.
Students who enroll in the upcoming class will gain hands on experience to the art of beading, offering experience in the application of beads to fascinating fashion accessories. The class experience produces creativity and by the use of beads of various sizes, the crafter opens endless application possibilities.
