Gals fore Giving
Despite winter’s reluctance to depart, members of the fund raising committee of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary are dusting off their golf clubs and preparing for the sixth annual all-women’s outing, Gals fore Giving, Friday, June 28. The early effort is based on sending the message that without golfers and sponsors there would be no contest.
Shelley Gunther hams it up while pretending to dust off her putter to promote Sparrow Clinton Auxiliary’s upcoming Gals fore Giving golf outing. The effort evokes a hearty laugh from fellow Auxilian, Jeanette Huard.
So, with dust rags in hand, the Auxilians will be calling on businesses – both former sponsors and new prospects – to consider some form of sponsorship and for ladies of the links to complete an early registration.
In keeping with the spirit of the new emergency addition planned at Sparrow Clinton Hospital, levels of sponsorship have been named with a hospital theme, ranging from “Volunteer” (Giving Heart), $50-$200,
“Visitor” (Giving Cheer), $201-$500, “Patient” (Giving Thanks), $501-$1,000, to “Recovery” (Giving Renewal), $1,001 plus. The Auxiliary has pledged $100,000.00 to this project and for the next five years the “Gals for Giving” golf outing will be important to the commitment.
As in the past, other sponsorships include the traditional Breakfast ($225), Lunch at the Turn ($375) and the Deli-Buffet at day’s end ($450). On course sponsorships are $50 per hole.
A four-person team sponsorship is $300 and individual registrations are $75.
Kathie Clock and Shelley Redman share the co-chair responsibilities and other assignments are: Ann Hufnagel and Chery Goff, Golfers; Robin Ingalls and Mary Ann Elllickson, Business contacts; Nancy Mino and Ione Berg, Prizes; Shelley Gunther and Emma Khavari, Hole Sponsors and Jeanette Huard and Kathie Clock, Publicity.
Checks for sponsorships or golf registration may be made out to SCHA and mailed to Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary, 805 S. Oakland St., St. Johns, MI 48879. For further information contact co-chairs Kathie Clock, katclock2002@yahoo.com or Shelley Redman, bakermi@msu.edu.
