Six candidates have been invited to participate in first-round interviews as St. Johns Public Schools continues the process of selecting a new superintendent. Dr. Ken Ladouceur announced his intention earlier this year to retire at the end of the 2012-13 school year.
The St. Johns Board of Education will interview candidates in open meetings set for Monday through Wednesday, April 22-24. Two candidates will be interviewed at each meeting; one at 6 p.m., and the second at 8 p.m.
Area residents and district staff are encouraged to attend and provide input. Forms will be provided for persons attending to record their thoughts on each candidate.
The candidates include:
– Ronald Drzewicki, superintendent, White Pigeon Community Schools, White Pigeon, MI.
– Dedrick Martin, superintendent, Ypsilanti Public Schools, Ypsilanti, MI.
– Sean McNatt, superintendent, Breckenridge Community Schools, Breckenridge, MI.
– Richard Rundhaug, superintendent, Willcox Unified School District, Willcox, AZ.
– Ronald Saari, former superintendent, Black River Falls Schools, Black River Falls, WI.
– Steven Skalka, assistant superintendent for human resources, Lakeview School District, Battle Creek, MI.
The nightly schedule is as follows:
April 22: 6 p.m., Saari; 8 p.m., Martin
April 23: 6 p.m., Drezewicki; 8 p.m., Skalka
April 24: 6 p.m., McNatt; 8 p.m., Rundhaug
